Javier Bardem in Film Based on Chilean Miner Rescue?Posted: October 14th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
  The news has been dominated by reports of the thirty three Chilean miners who were stuck over 2,200 feet underground for sixty nine days. But before the last man was pulled out, Hollywood has already started coming up with ways to bring the story to the big screen.
According to Thaindian News, Javier Bardem (No Country For Old Men) is currently in talks to play a pivotal role in a movie based on the first hand account given by the rescued miners.
Watching the events unfold, journalists kept saying that this resembles something out of a movie. Apparently they were right. There is no denying that this inspirational story, and it was only a matter of time before someone tried to make money of it.

This could never work as a movie, the ending is already spoiled. Thanks a lot Chilean rescue-workers!

wow, i'm sure the miners wanted to be rescued only to see their hardship made into a movie, NOT!!...hollywood, go f*ck yourself, in the 'wood' section...how about all those other hardships other people go through?...people get in unfortunate bombing accidents yet there's no movie about that...or how about a movie about that oil spill?...hollywood is way beyond overrated, the executives are like gale hailstorm in the first scary movie 'who do i have to screw to get a goddamn story?'...i agree the incident is like a movie, but just because it is like a movie, it doesn't need to be...i guess that's why there are such things as heartless bastards, they would make a movie about someone who commits suicide so their family and friends can get pissed off and then sue them for it...lay the f*ck off it hollywood...how about that plane that nearly crashed but landed in the river and all those survivors made it out alive?...there's no movie about that, yet it's a very happy incident...learn hollywood, f*cking learn!!

@AYT
Someone SUPPOSEDLY sits in a cave and has that kind of money. Osama Bin Laden ...
for f*cks sakes, you'd figure they could radar in on his cable box, while he's watching the playoffs.

I was watching the first report saying that the miners were finally going to be reached within 24 hours last Friday on a tv in a McDonalds and I remember saying that there was definitely going to be a movie made out of this story. Less than a week later and theyve already got casting. Wouldn't be surprised if a script is almost complete.

Apparently Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have been cast as miners too. They have a scene where reporters are asking them how many days they were trapped in the mine and they look at each other and reply "Sixty nine, dudes!"
