George Miller Explains "Mad Max 4" DelaysSubmit Comment
We recently reported that the fourth "Mad Max" movie has been delayed and will not begin filming until 2012. Now, director George Miller (Mad Max, Happy Feet) has confirmed the news, blaming the delay on weather and not on creative differences or the escalating budget.

Apparently the movie was previously set to begin filming in February, but the Australian location of Broken Hill has been hit hard by rain this year, turning the dry lifeless desert into green landscape.

"Unfortunately what was wasteland is now this wonderful flower garden," said Miller. "We've looked at every single nook and cranny in Australia for these specific locations. Warners are very, very committed to the film, as we are."

He added that the plan is to wait for the vegetation to die and the goal is to begin filming one year from now at the earliest.

They're waiting for stuff to die really quick in the nooks and crannies ... are they talking about the vegetation of Australia's outback or the sexual HAZMAT local, which is Lohan's vagina ?

So Miller basically doesn't want Australia to get rain, and hope people will let the grass die.

People in the outback want f*cking rain and grass, trust me on that

@Big_Daddy It turns out that Roundup is incredibly toxic and, among other things, can cause cancer. It's already banned in Denmark. (Or at least the use of it is, I don't know if they've banned the sale of it.) So the cast and crew would probably object to working in a toxic environment if it was used, lol!

That is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Find a new f*ckin location, that's like the one movie that cant be made/written until the dude owning the rights dies...i forget what movie that is

no this mobienis never going to happen. Anyone who believes George Miller's excuse...

At least it won't happen with the sane cast, thank god on the Tom Hardy casting. Here is the reason from several crew members and a reporter at the Australian. Believe me if you want. George Miller is fine with small budgeted 1980's films, but a 100K h
Film he can't handle. The script was crap, he didn't know if it was a sequel or reboot, and his choice for Tom Hardy as Mad Max was generally never considered great.

I'm not one of these people who thinks it has to be Mel Gibson, I think a new actor would cause a lot of buzz. just noy Tom Hardy, he is a character actor not a leading man. Mel Gibson was a leading man. Don't you even have trouble visualizingnHardy in that outfit? Also, Mad Max is a role for a seriously good lookimgnand masculine guy. Tom Hardy is a feminine looking, and well seems even gayer.

There were three guys up for the role beforenGardy got it and the movie would likely be full steam ahead because these actors seem more like Max. One was Jeremy Renner, I'm not syrebhe would have been that great, but he was nominated for an Oscar. Brendan Fehr was another one, he would have been good. the closest was Mark Hildebrandt. He looks the most like Max and he is slated to lay the leading role in the live action Warcraft film as the well publicized," Bad Ass Human Warrior."

Also remember Miller has questionable taste as Mel Gibson was going to be his secondmchoice.
