Three Actresses in Talks for "Alien" PrequelSubmit Comment
Deadline is reporting that Ridley Scott and 20th Century Fox have been meeting with a number of actresses to play the lead role in the upcoming "Alien" prequels.

The short list includes Carey Mulligan (Wall Street 2), Abbie Cornish (Sucker Punch), who starred in Scott's "A Good Year," and Noomi Rapace (Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), who also recently signed on to star opposite Robert Downey Jr in the "Sherlock Holmes" sequel.

The new movie, being re-written by "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindoff, will be set 30 years before the 1979 original and explore the origins of the deadly aliens. "Were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare," said Scott. "Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?"

I would love Shawnee Smith to get the lead role :) I feel it needs to be a older actress whos in their 30's anyways... also shes not getting much work at the moment, even though shes a brilliant actress, and super hot.

Will Russel Crowe be in this??

Crowe will be in this in some way shape or form

I don't like Noomi, but out of those three, she's the only one who can be sort of badass. Mulligan looks too cute and Cornish does just look pseudo-badass

Meh.

I agree with Jigsaws_apprentice. Shawnee is a very solid actress. I would even nominate Naomi Watts.

But what would we know ? We're only the paying audience who dances like monkeys when they clap the symbols (release the picture).

Carey Mulligan (Wall Street 2), NO! NO! NO!

Abbie Cornish (Sucker Punch), Does not look the part to me.

Noomi Rapace (Girl With the Dragon Tattoo),Just by looks and from what I have heard about this lady, I would say she is the best choice.

@Dave and it would be a great way to introduce Noomi to the american audiance.

How are they going to have humans in this?

@buttabean I was going to say the same thing! I thought the lead characters were the "space jockey" aliens? Then again you need a voice cast but are the aliens going to speak English or will the whole movie be subtitled?

Why do they always pick the ugliest bitches to star in these kind of films
WV-Films writes:

This is stupid. Why go the same route as the original? If you have a female protagonist, it'll be the exact same movie as before.

Abbie Cornish!!!!

@cc

Yes it would and hopefully they don't make her have an American accent.
