Natalie Portman Would Star in "The Professional" SequelSubmit Comment
After Luc Besson's "The Professional" was released back in 1994, Sony Pictures decided to move forward with a sequel that would have focused on Mathilda, played by Natalie Portman.

MTV News has now caught up with Portman and asked if he she ever had a chance to read the script for the sequel and whether she would be interested in returning for it.

"I have never read it because Luc won't direct it himself, and so I'm only interested if he [directs]," she said. "I told him if he would do it himself, I would do it in two seconds. But he won't, so..."

Natalie, please don't.

It's one of the few Luc Besson movies that shouldn't have a sequel, no matter how interesting it would be that Mathilda would grow up to be an assassin.

Besides, if you think about it ... Mathilda would be La Femme Nikita, another Luc Besson classic. She would rename herself Nikita to protect her from the cops and to hide her past.

So it's a moot point.

Why must they give a sequel to every damn movie?

If Luc Besson is not involved in the sequel, it should be scrapped without hesitation.

Actually, even if he would take part, it whouldn't take place anyway.

Unless you get Jean Reno back to play leons twin brother you cant do this. Leon IS the profession.

f*ckin Sony... the only good English Jean Reno movie n they want to sully it with a sequel... pssh

Gary Oldman rocks it hard in that flick

No sequel please. And even if Luc Besson decides to make it, I don't think it'll be any good. He has lost his touch a while ago.

And she would kill your dog for fun, so don't push her.

I'd like Natalie to star at the end of my d*ck.

@ lewis2001 - The only good english Jean Reno? Clearly you haven't seen Ronin. I like Leon (The Professional) but I like Ronin even more. They both rock of course.

Natalie Portman's character will resurrect Jean Reno as a monster not unlike the Frankenstein monster. Then they go after the last shred of dignity in the movie industry.

The Professional/Leon was such a great flick, but I dont know about this...i mean atleast its not a remake...but still

Luc Besson retired from directing movies a few years ago, so I don't think this movie will be ever made.

Sad, indeed...!
