Bruce Willis' "Kane and Lynch" is Now Delayed

Back in May, Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx were on board for the upcoming big screen adaptation of the "Kane and Lynch" video game. The movie had billboards hanging at the Cannes Film Festival, and Simon Crane was signed on to direct. Crane was then replaced with Patrick Alessandrin (District 13: Ultimatum), who was getting ready to begin filming in October.

LA Times is now reporting that Alessandrin is no longer attached to the project, and producers are scrambling to find his replacement. Wayne Kramer (Running Scared), F. Gary Gray (Italian Job) and Antoine Fuqua (Brooklyn's Finest) are being considered.

As a result, the October start date has been pushed back likely until the first quarter of next year. Many believe there will be more obstacles ahead due to the fact that movies based on video games usually underperform.

Plot: Kane (Willis) is a mercenary. Lynch (Foxx) is a schizophrenic with no past. They meet while being transported to Death Row. When they are attacked and kidnapped by Kane's former team, the ill-matched duo is forced to retrieve a stolen microchip that may hold the key to Lynch's true identity.

It's a sign Bruce, walk away from this one.

Never played the game but heard good things about it. That being said I'll probably wait until this comes out on dvd on the basis that most films based off of video games typically aren't that great. The only movies based on a video game I would see in theaters would be Prototype and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare if their scripts aren't sh*t.

Hugo Weaving should have played Lynch.

Hasn't Jamie Foxx already played a schizophrenic? Is he the go to guy to play nutters?

Hate to sound RHETORIC, but is this a good sign ?

I blame Jamie Foxx. Not because he's black and the black man has always been pigeonholed as the corruptive influence to society, but just because it's Jamie Foxx.

Wow. I'm getting sweaty, haunted flashbacks of Fishburne just jawclocking Stephen Baldwin in a movie so bad, even the name of the movie was a four letter word starting with F and wasn't bold enough to call itself f*ck.

Willis is perfect for the role of Kane

But i doubt Fox as Lynch,

Personally i think Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad would make an awsome Lynch

bruce is perfect for kane and billy bob thorton is perfect for lynch, although they were in about 2 movies together. i am not hating jamie but they should stick to the original people like c=white not black and white.

Wayne Kramer should do it. And please get rid of Foxx as Lynch..

If they can give the movie the same tone that the games had, in that it was really gripping and it felt like it could all fall apart at any second then this could work. I agree Willis is perfect, and Foxx is a good actor but I just don't know. I'm willing to reserve judgement until I see it. He could do really well.

They shouldn't turn this into a movie. First of all, it will just add fuel to the argument that video games all make awful movies. Secondly, Kane and Lynch is a bad franchise that has been surrounded by nothing but bad press ever since that gamespot employee got fired for his review of it.

Jamie Foxx as Lynch?

I would have walked away if I was Bruce Willis and I heard that. He should play the game and see how stupid that casting decision is.
