Edward Norton Wants a Villain Role in "Batman 3"Submit Comment
IGN caught up with Edward Norton, who once again mentioned that he hopes "The Avengers" does well and has no hard feelings regarding Marvel's decision to replace him with Mark Ruffalo in the role of The Hulk.

In fact, he revealed that he would still like to star in a superhero movie. "Chris Nolan is making the best ones out there by far," Norton explained. "I'd do one with him. He's set a new bar for sure, and I think he's done a great, great job."

The site then asked if he would be interested in playing a villain in the third "Batman" movie, possibly The Riddler. "That would be fun, I would not say no to that," the actor replied. "Your guys can put their votes in on that."

He's definitely high up there on my list of choices. I think he could easily pull off the type of riddler that they are looking to do.

Norton would be excellent. And in Batman 4 Mark Ruffalo could replace him. Perfect.

Edward Norton - manly man! Would be great that he is villain of B3

LOL.

Norton wouldn't be bad.

As long as they don't dress Norton in Frank Gorshin's costume like they did Jim Carrey, then okay. But if they have the riddler dress up like a Gay Pride costume reject, than f*ck TO THE HELL NO.

I'm all for this. Norton is beast.

How about playing the janitor at Wayne Corp who doesnt like to clean toilets,

He awaits innocent bathroom paitrons and tells them he will throw cow dung at there cars if they dont clean their stall by hand

Thoughts anyone?
Aaron writes:

sounds better than him playing the riddler, crazyhorse.

Ed Norton is a great actor but he dosen't have a resemblance to The Riddler (the only resemblance he has is maybe the riddler's voice). By all means cast him in Batman 3, just not the Riddler, maybe Hush or Black Mask.

PhantomCloneInX writes:

Pass on The Riddler, pass on Norton.

He's a great actor, but I don't see him fitting into the Nolan Batman universe. Also, I'd rather see the primary villain be a baddie who hasn't been in the movies yet.

ED NORTON - either MR FREEZE - or CLAYFACE (maybe clayface doesnt fit with CNolan Bat-movies tho) could def see FREEZE in that universe if done right

Did'nt think of it before, but I could go along with this, I mean Norton very rarely gives a bad performance even when the script is bad.

rabid writes:

Norton could play an awesome Riddler, or probably any other deranged *sshole from the Gotham rogues gallery.
rabid writes:

Clayface could be good. The original Clayface was just an actor, not a walking turd like the new one.

on looks and in the past he can play smart psychos so why not this.

My other choice is John Malkovich, crazy smart and creepy something that this Riddler should be.... remember people how most could not see Heath Ledger as the Joker.

Still can't.
bloodgear writes:

I'd like him to do Julian Day, the Calender Man. The Long Halloween is an awesome batstory [but it's already been incorporated with two-face elements in the dark knight] but it could work still.
minkowski writes:
on September 26th, 2010 at 4:50:08 PM

I don't think Julian Day is an interesting enough character to appear in a Nolan film. He hardly ever appears in the comic books. And he's also one of the few Batman/Gotham characters to never have had a spin-off comic AFAIK. He's just boring as hell.

Norton could do a Victor Zsasz instead, and would provide a far more interesting character than Calendar Man.
