Pixar Hires First Female Director for "Brave"Submit Comment
Pixar has signed Brenda Chapman to write and direct the upcoming animated film called "Brave," marking the first time the studio has hired a female helmer.

Plot: The impetuous, tangle-haired Merida, though a daughter of royalty, would prefer to make her mark as a great archer. A clash of wills with her mother compels Merida to make a reckless choice, which unleashes unintended peril on her father's kingdom and her mother's life. Merida struggles with the unpredictable forces of nature, magic and a dark, ancient curse to set things right.

"Brave" has a voice cast comprised of Reese Witherspoon, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson and Julie Walters. It is scheduled to hit theaters on June 15th, 2012.

this is super old news.
Chapman is very talented with script work on beuaty and the beast, lion king, and director of prince of egypt. I look forward to brave.

I must be getting old and cynical, the story sounds sh*t to me and will never watch it.

I must be getting old and cynical, because the story of this movie sounds like a steaming pile of rhino sh*t to me.

I really don't care which sex the director has as long as the product is good. And I must say, this story sounds very uninspiring with Pixar-standards accounted.

I'm a bit late to this article, but I'll be the first to not p*ssyfoot around it:

This sounds like complete sh*t. This is the type of schlock that Dreamworks or Lionsgate would release.

What's happening to Pixar? First they made Cars, which was a horrible decision. Then they made Toy Story 3, which restored faith in them for me, even though the movie was banking entirely on nostalgia. But now they're making Cars 2, and this pile of ass?

You know what that spells:
S-E-L-L-O-U-T-S

Thats right kids, if it has Pixar's name on it, you'll bang your head against the floor till your parents take you to see it, and now Pixar realizes this, so they've stopped trying to make good, thought-filled plots (Like the scrapped NEWT project, which would have been as good as Finding Nemo).

f*ck Pixar.

A woman at the director's chair. That's super duper wrong.

PIXAR's demise has began.

women are supposed to be in front of the camera, naked and doing unspeakable things with their vaginas.
