Insane Trailer for "Robot" Bollywood Sci-Fi FilmSubmit Comment
Today we have an insane trailer for a new Indian sci-fi film "Robot," in which a gifted scientist constructs an equally gifted robot who sets out into the world for the first time with some unexpected consequences.

"Robot" is India's most expensive film ever, costing more than $32 million, with much of the budget going to the special effects. Yuen Woo Ping (The Matrix) was hired to choreograph the action and Stan Winston Studios designed the animatronics. Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire) did the music.

Check out the trailer below to see a giant cobra (made out of robot men) swallow a car, plenty of Terminator winks and just as many dance numbers.

The actor is Indian version of Chuck Norris. Rajnikanth. Has a huge huge fan following. does the impossible. in one movie he flicks the cigarrete in the air, shoots it to light it and catches it with his lips.

This movie is so fake......I didn't see a single help-desk phone in the whole trailer

That looks f*cking awesome.
A lot slicker looking than the American Short Circuit or Bicentennial Man.

What the hell these indians are trying to do?

I mean, their country is one of the powerful nations ruling the world next future, but making movies, my God...

And yes, the indian chick is nice! Is really Aishwarya Rai?

I'd watch this.

Even homage-paying to: Mission Impossible (train-running), Terminator, The Matrix, Snake (Conan)... sure it's a batter of mutt... a batch off a ton of rip-offs... so much so, it's actually a bit original.

Yeah... I'd watch this. If only to rub one out watching the HAWT Indian ladies!

Oh, and a bit of Machete it seems (I forgot to add), without the Lovag stench.
Freudian_Nightmare writes:

Yes, it does look batsh*t insane, but that is to be expected from a country that worship cows. But considering the budget it doesn't look that bad. Compare it with GI Joe, for example. That thing cost over 100mil.
Ranger writes:

My thought exactly.

$32mil. is the catering budget for a blockbuster in the US... lol. This is $'s well-spent.

Besides... if ONLY 5% of their population buy the DVD, they've already made a fricken fortune!

The way things are going with Hollywood, in twenty years all the good films will come out of Bollywood, Hong Kong and maybe Austin, Texas.

Oh wait, I thought this was Robot Chicken the Movie. Never mind.

Who knew India was going to try to rip-off Bicentennial Man ? At least the bot doesn't have a hook nose, is shaved in the important areas and act goofy both on and off screen.

Good to see our foreign aid is well spent. Whatever would India do without Bollywood, nuclear weapons and a space program?
