Steven Spielberg's Next is "Robopocalypse" Sci-Fi Film?

Posted: September 21st, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Steven SpielbergSubmit Comment
Back in May it was reported that Steven Spielberg was considering sci-fi film "Robopocalypse" as his next helming gig. He then began looking at several less-exciting passion projects like "39 Clues," "Gershwin," "Harvey," "Matt Helm" and "War Horse," seemingly forgetting about "Robopocalypse."

NY Magazine has now learned that Spielberg is considering making the robot movie his next project. Drew Goddard (Cloverfield) has recently turned in a new draft of the script, based on Daniel H. Wilson's book about the human race's attempt to survive an apocalyptic robot uprising.

Now that Spielberg has once again expressed interest, talent agencies are scrambling to get their clients attached. And other directors are hoping that Spielberg will abandon the project, so they can develop a Spielberg-approved movie.

f*ck Spielberg for Indy 5, let George Lucas do it alone with maybe Harrison Ford pitching in for the directing and I would be MUCH more confident in the outcome of the film.

honestly, the only material I'm willing to watch on the big screen w/ any more robots is the orginal "Mobile Suit Gundam". great story, great characters, great action. it'll only be a matter of time before they make that series into a blockbluster. sooner the better.
everything else has been garbage.

Heres a tip Spielberg (not that you need any)

Dont let the Cloverfield bunch use your camera's to film this movie

The bouncy camera crap didnt keep me enthralled with the movie and many people got up and left the movie

An Indy 5 with spielberg directing with Minimal CGI and a Good script, Would still be a movie i would really like to see.

Spielberg is still one of the greatest storytellers/film makers that Hollywood has ever seen IMO.

The more they bounce the pretty balls of yarn in front of Steven to keep him preoccupied from that potential calamity Indiana Jones and the Diet of Prunes, the better off we are as the audience.

@Orias

I would not be confident in George Lucus touching his own children let alone another movie!

Do the robots send a killer back in time to assassinate the future leader of the robot resistance?

Damn, that's a good idea. I call dibs on the screenplay!
