"Resident Evil 4" Dominates Weak Box Office With $27.7 MillionSubmit Comment
The fourth "Resident Evil" movie hit theaters on Friday and went on to gross slightly under $28 million this weekend. The 3D film opened better than previous installment and will quickly make back its $60 million budget.

First "Resident Evil" grossed $17.7 million, while the sequel and the third film went on to take $23 million during their opening weekends. A fifth installment is already on its way.

"Takers" took second place with $6.1 million, bringing its domestic total to $48 million. A sequel is already in the works as well.

Meanwhile, Magnolia released the Joaquin Phoenix mockumentary "I'm Still Here" in 19 locations. The film grossed $104,500 or a decent $5,500 per site. No word on whether a wider release is being planned.

How much are they charging for 3d now? I bet About $20 million of that take was all cuz of the extra cost of 3d tickets

I heard from friends that RE3D was the worst movie of all time. I'm willing to believe it, since all the others were garbage. I think they only keep making these films to give Milla something to do.

i think these movies make money because folks go to see if millia will be flashing any lady bits in the movie.

"Resident Evil 4" Dominates Weak Box Office With $27.7 Million

More like "Resident Evil 4" Dominates Weak Moviegoers Brains with $ 27.7 Million ... considering how piss poor the summer box office selection was .... and it was sh*tbox near a coal mine backed up with decade old feces poor ... this isn't saying much.

ESPECIALLY since Paul Weaksh*t Anderson is doing this, so Milla will have something to do other than hang around the house, bitching at why Luc Besson is such a better action director.

Glad to see its doing well, was a rather decent film! 10x better then 3. Is the best 3D film since Avatar, all they need to do now is make 3D available migraine free
