Ronald Reagan Biopic Planned for Next Year

Ronald Reagan Biopic Planned for Next YearSubmit Comment
Mark Joseph optioned best-selling biographies "The Crusader" and "God and Ronald Reagan" four years ago, and is now making plans for a feature film based on the life of 40th US President Ronald Reagan.

The new $30 million movie is written by Jonas McCord (Malice, The Body) and will examine Reagan's life from boyhood to Hollywood actor to leader of the free world. No actors or directors have been signed, but the film is set to be released next year.

There was already a 2003 mini-series "The Reagans," which starred James Brolin as the President and was supposed to air on CBS until a controversy erupted over alleged left-wing bias and was moved to Showtime instead.

"Only in Hollywood could you make an insulting, condescending movie about a much-loved historical figure, hire an actor who loathes the man, watch it flop and then somehow conclude that Americans don't want to see a movie about him," Joseph said. "I watched Americans line up and wait for 10 hours for the simple privilege of passing by his closed casket. They love this man."

I was inside NORAD (Cheyenne Mountain) when Reagan died. Flags at half mast.

I hope they make it with a good perspective of him, he was one of our greatest presidents and infinately better than obama could ever dream of being.

Dave- I love Who Dares Wins , I met Lewis Collins a few years ago really nice guy. And The Professionals is my all time favorite show. Britian was a better place in the 70's/80's lol

I'm sure this won't be bias at all and it will be sure to detail how Ronald single-handedly destroyed 50 German U-Boats and simultaneously fathered Joe Namath and Johnny Unitas.

@trailer - Tom Hanks is the first actor that comes to mind

@trailer - it was more interesting being there (it's not as fancy as 'War Games'... but it's real alright)... the flags at half mast didn't occur to me 'til afterward (bad huh?).

Is this the one where Ronnie Jr. comes out of the closet, Nancy is sniffing more cocaine off the tip of Bruce Springsteen's d*ck and Ronnie bends Patti over his lap and fingerf*cks her for doing those " trampy photos with Hef, you f*cking slut. " ?

God, I hope so.

Hope he's enjoying the heat with Jackson and Nixon.

Since this is obviously a COMEDY, let's get the worst possible comedian to portray this political sack of sh*t :

Carlos Mencia, Dane Cook and Pauley Shore ... you phones are all on speed-dial.

@Max - lol... Ronnie is exactly what my mole looks like.

@tt - yes, inside a mountain. I see there are pics on the internet of the blast doors (as thick as the distance from the inside of my shoulder to the tip of my finger). But damn... with all the pics on the internet, it's clearly not the huge secret it once was. I see they don't show many interior shots though (that was interesting). It's in Colorado Springs, Col. A diesel fuel reservoir, a fresh water reservoir (next to one-another?!), 4-5 train (locomotive) engines for power generation. Humidity. 110,000+ rods in the ceilings above to hold the mountain from collapsing. And all built for about $72mil. back in the 50's... amazing. Quite the feat. Everyone in there knows they'd never leave alive. They're just there long enough to fire off 'The Final Solution'... as it was built to withstand atomic blasts... not nuclear (same diff... just the payloads increase). Neat place. And a hell of a deal for the price to build it.

When they do this movie, they better not forget the subtitles and laugh track.

Otherwise, the audience will be confused.

Ranger-

That does sounds pretty cool my friend !!

Remember going to the Hoover Dam a few years back, Unbelievable engineering to make that thing and the fact the equipment they used was nothing like what we have today it was an unbelievable feat.

Man can do some amazing things , just ask anyone who's Attempted to pop one up rosie o donnell's butt , Nothing is impossible...

Ranger writes:

@tt - re: Hoover Dam. Just read up about it on Wiki. Amazing something that size to see.

And the first of the 112 deaths was by a surveyor locating a spot to build the dam, the last death was his son years ago. Weird!

Was the big bridge that connected Ariz. and NV. in place when you were there (crazy heights!)?
trailertrash writes:
on September 11th, 2010 at 7:14:47 PM

I think that bridge opened about 2002 we were there 1998. I Just looked at the photos WOW !! that is high.

We went across the Dam parked up and then done the tour Amazing stuff. The view from the foot of the dam looking up was something else as well.

And they have these giant plug holes at the side of the Dam for the water over flow or something they are massive, unbelievable stuff..
