Concept Art for Peter Berg's "Dune" Remake Revealed

Posted: September 5th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Concept Art for Peter BergSubmit Comment
Jock, the comic book artist behind "The Losers," has unveiled several pieces of concept art from Paramount Pictures' "Dune" remake, which was supposed to be directed by Peter Berg (Hancock).

Berg is now off the project and the concept art has been thrown out. Pierre Morel (Taken) is said to have been hired to helm "Dune," which will be different from Berg's vision. Check out the concept art below.

The new movie is based on Frank Herbert's classic sci-fi novel, which is a futuristic tale set on the remote desert planet Arrakis, which produces the interstellar empire's sole source of the spice Melange -- used for distant space travel. An empirewide power struggle ensues over the control of the spice.

looks cool. I just bought the graphic novel adaptation of Dune illustrated by Bill Seinkiewicz, and it's a f*ckin gorgeous book. But sadly I can only read about half of it because it's in French.

I wonder if they'll get Sting and William Hurt to do a cameo ?

And why is it that the David Lynch version is so near, dear to my heart ?

thought they'll figure out by now that this book is too complex to convert to a movie...

i've never read dune.

Dune is a bizarre book. It's not that great, well that's my opinion but if you look at the concept... Avatar is a ripoff of Dune.

Spice = rare avatar rocks
empire destroying the people blah blah blah.

there's a lot of similarities which I was concerned when I heard they were remaking this. I could see people thinking Dune is a ripoff of Avatar...

Hollywood should be careful with this. This was an original idea a long time ago....in a galaxy far far away

Between the Lynch's version, and the really drawn out big budgetted mini-series I would have thought that the Dune story has been thoroughly raped to death. Will take a little more than an update to an angry penis worm with teeth to pry my movie dollar.

They should make the Freman like those crazy motherf*ckin cave humanoids in The Descent. And please cast Scarlett so she can wear an assless stillsuit.
