Concept Art for Pixar's Cancelled "Newt" Movie

Posted: September 3rd, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Concept Art for PixarSubmit Comment
Back in May, Pixar announced that it has officially cancelled development of their latest animated movie "Newt" in order to focus on other films. The project will likely never be revitalized, which is why the studio released some of the concept art from the movie. Check it out below.

"Newt" plot: What happens when the last remaining male and female blue-footed newts on the planet are forced together by science to save the species, and they can't stand each other? That's the problem facing Newt and Brooke, who embark on a perilous, unpredictable adventure and discover that finding a mate never goes as planned, even when you only have one choice. Love, it turns out, is not a science.

The film was scheduled to be released in the summer of 2011.

Good thing Pixar canned this movie in order to focus on the movie everyone wanted to see.... Cars 2! Their most famous and well respected movie.

So boring couldn't be bothered to look at all the drawings , Good call Pixar

If they are making Cars 2 why won't they make The Incredibles 2 as well.

Personally, I'd rather see this than Cars 2. The layout of this animation is amazing. 2D animation is a fading artform which is unfortunate.
The Illusionist is one 2D film I am anticipating to see.

Yeah for Incredibles 2,best CG Toon ever made IMO.
That art work was very good too.

I hope pixar change their mmind about this. I would hate for them to turn into a typical franchise building studio. Probably disneys fault putting pressure on them to continue making sequels to established and successful movies. Urrrggghhh!!! Why can't disney be good again!!!??

so lame that they canned this for CARS 2! i don't even like cars 1, and i like all the pixar movies.

This looks like it would have been a much more promising film than a sequel to the f*cking awful "Cars" (the only Pixar film I actively despise).

Wow, some of those shots look beautiful and would have translated to the screen really well. I'd really rather see this than another Cars film.

"...cancelled development of their latest animated movie "Newt" in order to focus on other films." you mean more f*cking sequels. Id love to see fresh ideas from Pixar again like this, not Cars again. Plus, Im always excited to see what celebs will play a voice, because they always get a great cast. Larry the Cable Guy again....awesome............
