Ridley Scott Reveals "Alien" Prequel IdeasSubmit Comment
The Independent caught up with director Ridley Scott (Gladiator) to talk about his career and his latest project, which is a two-part prequel to "Alien," shot entirely in 3D.

The script for the first prequel is being re-written by "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindoff and is set 30 years before the 1979 original. It will explore the origins of the deadly aliens.

"The film will be really tough, really nasty," said Scott. "It's the dark side of the moon. We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?"

Sounds pretty cool. I hope he does a good job with tension like he did with the first Alien.

So pumped for this! Definitely on my most anticipated list.

If anyone else was doing this movie I might be a little worried, but its Ridley Scott, the guy is a friggin genius.....and the fact that he is retuning to his sci-fi roots makes it that much more exciting! Cant wait!

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Ridley, you've gone senile! Please stop this before it's too late.

sounds excellent. I always wondered who those dead space marines were.

Ridley created the first one, he can not f*ck this one up at all.

Ridley Scott/Sci-Fi = Cinema Gold

Sounds Awesome , I have no doubt he will deliver on this ...

just don't f*ck up like robin hood...that was some boring sh*t,you should have the balls to go with the original crazy idea of Nottingham...

THIS IS GOING TO BE THE sh*t !!!!! WATCH OUT !!!!

@Rambo
Ridley Scott made Robin Hood because he felt there hasn't been a good adaptation with the exception of Mel Brooks' Men in Tights

...he's still right

So glad the AVP franchise has been dropped. Paul W S Anderson!!?? What were fox thinking!!!??? Absolutley useless.

I have faith in Ridley But I'm a bit worried about the involement of Damon Lindoff especially after the sh*t heap that was the Lost finale. Probably the biggest and longest con ever created especially considering that the events of season 5 contributed abosolutely nothing to the ending. Actually, nothing from any season contributed to the finale. Complete trash.

Damon Lindelof also helped to create an excelent Star Trek movie so he is not just "the guy that f*cked up Lost", wich he didn't, at least not just him. Mediocre thinking makes people talk about one's wrong but nothing about the good things.

@ Rambo

Ridley scotts version of Robin Hood is considered a prequel, and a damn near good one.

as for Aliens prequel, go right ahead ridley, if anyone was to make alien prequels, it better be origenal director. or james cameron ;P

James Cameron will probably bitch about this movie when its realised because he didn't make it. And if its not made by him then he deems it unworthy. Even if its in 3D.

James Cameron thinks Chuck Norris would be better in 3D.

Why the f*ck does this have to be a f*cking agenda ? Whatever happened to sci-fi for the sake of sci-fi, for f*ck's sake ...
