"Bioshock" Movie Still Moving Forward

"Bioshock" Movie Still Moving ForwardSubmit Comment
"Bioshock" video game designer Ken Levine recently did a radio interview, where he spoke about the plan to turn the popular game into a feature film.

"I will say that it is still an active thing," he revealed. "And it is something we are actively talking about and actively working on. The movie business is complicated - I can't tell you whether it's going to happen for sure or it's not going to happen for sure. But it's something we are actively discussing, quite actively, and actively working on."

Not too long ago, "28 Weeks Later" director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo was in talks to step in for Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean), with Wentworth Miller ("Prison Break") set to star. And the plan was to have a lead character and not just a hand with a weapon like in the game.

"You can't really do that in a movie," Levine said. "That's your guy, that's the guy you are following through. [The trick is to stay true to the game and also round out the character] so he's not literally a hand with a gun and so he's actually a person who is going through some sort of progression through his life."

This is bound to suck. What makes a video game a brilliant video game can NEVER make it a good film.

Wentworth Miller is underrated. But video game films don't do well. And Gore Verbinski hasn't been relevant lately since he bombed with the last two "Pirates of the Carribean" films.

They need to give Zack Snyder 150 million and let him have at it. This would be perfect for him.
