David Fincher Comments on "Spider-Man" Reboot

David Fincher Comments on "Spider-Man" RebootSubmit Comment
David Fincher (Fight Club, Curious Case of Benjamin Button), along with Wes Anderson (Fantastic Mr Fox) and Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) were in talks with Sony Pictures to direct the studio's "Spider-Man" reboot. Webb eventually got the job, but MTV wanted to know what Fincher thought about the new movie.

"It's risky," he said. "They're taking some risks. It's not like they're [getting] a conventional director. They're going at it in a different way. They're rolling the dice. I think that's always exciting."

Fincher added that he passed on the job because he didn't connect with the material. "I took a meeting and I easily got myself out of that one. I've never been interested in [superhero movies]. I just could not imagine someone getting bit by a radioactive spider."

The actor cast as Peter Parker is Andrew Garfield, who happens to also be starring in Fincher's upcoming "Social Network" film. "I can't imagine [Garfield] in spandex, I can't imagine him being comfortable," said Fincher. "He's a wonderful actor, he's incredibly skilled and empathic and a lovely guy. So it's nice to see that."

Don't bother about that Fincher.
You go and do what you know best, and let those bitches play with the devil.

Fincher looks at directing a Superhero movie in Hollywood as a fad, like tight rolling your jeans in the 80's. It's cool at the time, but looking back at your resume in 20 years, would you really be proud of it?

I look forward to seeing Andrew Garfield as Spiderman. I have high hopes for him.

I'm also glad Mary Jane won't be joining in anymore... time to move on spidey and get yourself a real woman!
