James Cameron Says "Avatar 2" and "Avatar 3" May Shoot Back-to-Back

James Cameron Says "Avatar 2" and "Avatar 3" May Shoot Back-to-BackSubmit Comment
MTV News caught up with director James Cameron to get the status of the "Avatar" sequel," to which Cameron replied that he is working on everyone's deals and is currently working on an "Avatar" novel that will expand the universe he created.

Since Cameron has been talking about eventually shooting an "Avatar" trilogy, he was asked if the next two installments would be shot back-to-back. "We're actually talking about that. That's not a decision yet," he said. "That is something that makes a lot of sense, given the nature of these productions."

While most big-budget films require lots of time and effort to shoot them, "Avatar" is different since it's largely made up of CG environments that can be created without any rush. The cast and crew participation is also very limited.

Cameron explained: "The way these back-to-back productions fall apart is that you're trying to do two live-action films back to back, and you're working on it for a year and a half, shooting. Everyone is dead. It's not humanly possible. This type of film, it absolutely would work."

I wonder if each movie will be about 3 hours long.

I won't be paying any more money to see either. I'll wait for it to come out on Redbox or Netflix.

I don't mean to be ridiculous, but I was reading this random thing about how all life on Earth is based on other life in the universe (because all these other beings contributed their DNA to the earth's ecosystem). It said that cats were created by them to maintain a psychic connection to humans on earth. Just saying, you trip some acid and you'll start seeing this sh*t as a possibility, and JC's tripped a lot of acid...

And by them I mean cat people.

Of course they can shoot back to back, they're just going to be recycled bullsh*t anyways.

Looking forward to seeing this supposed underwater race of aliens. The first Avatar was great, so I've come to never expect anything else but awesomeness from Cameron's films.

Great. Now this bio-friendly nutcase thinks that Avatar II and III are The Twin Towers and Return Of The King ... I've never seen someone who has too much time on his hands, too much money to do anything he wants to do and too maniacal in his thought processes contemplate that he's got the greatest film trilogy since Lord of the Rings ... should Frodo be anally raping this guy right about now ? Doing reacharounds and yanking on Cameron's c*ck, demanding it as its 'preciousssssss' and then forcing Cameron to suck the c*ck of his guard dog, all the while Kathryn Bigelow is masterbating on the couch and is dressed like Orlando Bloom's character from Lord of the Rings, swearing she will get those motherf*ckers who are suing every torrent user on the planet who watched The Hurt Locker and didn't bother to buy a f*cking ticket because frankly people like Cameron rob the very soul and being of all of us, who feel enslaved to our jobs and have to watch movies like this in the first place ...

Finally saw the first one and it is one of the most overrated movies in history. Could barely stay awake for the whole thing.

@MAX so right. I truly doubt anyone will be as hype to see these films as they were for the first one.
