Trailer: Denzel Washington's "Unstoppable" Train Thriller

Posted: August 6th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Trailer: Denzel WashingtonSubmit Comment
Today we have the trailer for the upcoming "Unstoppable" thriller, starring Denzel Washington, Chris Pine (Star Trek) and Rosario Dawson. Check it out below.

The story centers on an experienced train engineer (Washington) about to be laid off as part of company cutbacks and the newbie (Pine) conductor hired to replace him. They find themselves in a race against time to stop an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train carrying enough combustible liquids and poisonous gas to wipe out a nearby city.

The new movie is directed by Tony Scott (Man on Fire, Deja Vu), who recently teamed with Washington for another train thriller, "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" remake. "Unstoppable" is scheduled to hit theaters on November 12th.

It's Denzel!!! I don't need to watch a trailer if he's in the movie.

I'll watch the movie anyway.

But thx.

Odds are that one of the two main characters won't make it. I bet it look like it'll be Denzel, but ends up being Chris.

Although, it does look great. :)

Denzel n Chris will probably save this movie.. because the premise is so so just like pelham123 but that turned out to be a decent film.. if not rather enjoyable

Meh
Ted Mosby writes:

so this is like speed... but with a train... but with great actors (Denzel is always great and Chris Pine is awesome lately) and a way better director? looks pretty nuts though from the trailer. I'll see it.

@Bond
Travolta alone killed Pelham 123 haha

shouldn't this be called pelham 4,5,6?

Washington re-teaming with Tony Scott........again.
Man on fire=Taking of Pelham 123=Deja vu=Crap.
The director's only good with visually laced action scenes and Paul Greengrass-esque shaky camera scenes.
Washington , who's perpetually stuck doing "embittered, hard-living, tough cop" roles should move on and do more movies with Scott's more talented brother.

Yet again, Tony Scott will deliver

looks good denzel doesnt miss a beat and pine looks as if he is choosing his roles carefully

I'm with you ranger...Denzel rarely gives a bad performance..eventhough sometimes the script or direction is lacking...he somehow manages to make it at least bearable.

ranger- have you seen one of his movies called "For Queen & Country"? it is one of the few times I can take an American doing an Enlgish accent.

reminds me alot of Pelham 123

Looks way too over-the-top and ridiculous. It'll no doubt be absolutely nuts and there'll be some cool property destruction sequences. But it's not exactly a really cool storyline. Scott leads to broaden his repertoire and Denzel needs to stop getting sucked into his films

Anyone remember a mini-series called "Atomic Train" with Rob Lowe? It's basically the same movie.
trailertrash writes:

It's Tony Scott and Denzel Washington i'm in !!

Reminds me a bit of Eric roberts and John Voight's Runaway train, Pretty good action movie if you've not seen it.

freud-

Atomic Train lol that was bad and it does sound simlar, Don't forget Under siege 2 as well (which was pretty poor also)...
SACdaddy writes:

@Jake: Agreed, but Denzel is still very watchable in those films and somewhat saves all of them. And don't forget about Crimson Tide, that almost makes up for all the rest.

Tony Scott's skills are obviously diminishing in his later years. But don't forget, this is the guy that gave us Top Gun, Beverly Hills Cop 2, True Romance, Enemy of the State, Days of Thunder, and Spy Game. Which means he could still get lucky and produce another gem by accident. You really can't go wrong with a major runaway train film either. I'll give it a chance.

remember the gangster maroni who got his legs broken in THE DARK KNIGHT???
the actor who played him eric roberts
he did a film in the 80's called
RUNAWAY TRAIN just like this...
SACdaddy writes:

Runaway train was a great film but I don't see the similarity other than the obivious. One's about 2 cons who break out of prison and ecsape on a train, the other seems to be a disaster film in the making. If this new film is based on a similar event I saw on a show called I Survived, then this could be great. The show made it sound like some serious nail-biting sh*t.
Max Rockatansky Junior writes:

Looks okay, though runaway trains aren't original.
trailertrash writes:

I did only mean it reminded me of Runaway train, This does look good and Denzel is always watchable not matter what he's in..

trailertrash writes:

^no matter
arkflash writes:

So its Creasy Bear and Capt Tiberius vs an angry Runaway Train, sounds like a fun evening at the movies.

Nice little nod to Airport '75, trying to lower an engineer onto the unmanned locomotive. Wait that means Rosario Dawson is playing the part of Patroni???
