Quentin Tarantino to Direct "The Shadow" Remake?

Quentin Tarantino to Direct "The Shadow" Remake?Submit Comment
First it was reported that Sam Raimi was considering to remake "The Shadow," the 1994 film that starred Alec Baldwin. Then came word that Raimi was attached only as a producer and that David Slade (Twilight Saga: Eclipse, 30 Days of Night) was in talks to direct.

Pajiba is now reporting that Slade is no longer being considered to direct. Instead, 20th Century Fox is in negotiations with Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds), who is also attached as a co-writer.

The story is said to ignore the 1994 film and will focus more on the classic pulp novels and radio show of the 1930s and 40s. "The Shadow" is not a big priority for Fox, but that may change if Tarantino signs on.

Can't you just give us that "Vega Brothers" movie you proposed?

This could actually not suck...the original source material is well done and could be a good fit for QT.

This would be awesome. But it'll probably just turn out to be more QT rumors that go nowhere.

" Who NOSE what evil lurks in the hearts of men ? " Quentin and his honkin' schnoz, that's who.

This is taylor-made for his noirish particulars.

What TH3D4RKKN1GH7?

The 1994 Shadow film, or the one that Quentin might or might not be working on?

The 1994 Baldwin movie wasn't bad, but its flaw was that it was a Hollywood version of the Shadow concept. And I think that a movie with a smaller studio would probably do the concept much better justice.

It had some decent supporting cast with Ian McKellen, Peter Boyle, and Tim Curry. And certainly worth at least one viewing. But I'll warn you there's a fair amount of cheese in it.

You idiot Monash, step back and think about a Vega Brothers movie: They both died in the movies they first appeared in, so a sequel doesn't make sense. Travolta and Madsen are over 16 years older than the time they filmed Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, so a prequel would be ridiculous as well. It's not going to happen, get over it.

I enjoyed the version with Alec Balwin. I'll wait for the trailer to see if I want to watch this "reboot".

@Osiris3eagle
Get your facts right.
The proposed movie was they both had twin brothers and were brothers to each other out to get revenge on the people that killed their respective twin.
Obviously Madsen wouldn't be going after Roth because his character died, unless he too had a twin brother, so i'm guessing he would be after Buscemi to get some answers as to what happened
With any other director it would sound ridiculous but Tarantino could make it work, that's part of his charm

Who knows what sh*t thought lurks in Tarantino's mind?? I know.....he is gonna f*ck up this remake.

Listen to yourself Monash...a couple of brothers who both have an identical twin brother? It's beyond absurd. Like I said, it's never going to happen.
