MGM Working on "The Outer Limits" Movie

MGM is currently putting all their projects on hold, including "RoboCop" remake, "Red Dawn" remake, "Cabin in the Woods" and the latest James Bond installment. But at the same time, the studio is quietly developing a big screen version of "The Outer Limits."

Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, who have written scripts for four of the seven "Saw" films, have been hired to pen a feature take on the sci-fi series that aired on ABC from 1963-1965. The script is said to be handed in around October.

The writers have admitted that they were hired in mid-July, but MGM claims that they were brought on well before the studio's current financial troubles.

I'd rather if they just kept some of the scripts from the original episodes and compile them into one movie with good actors and modern special effects and techniques. Please keep anyone that has been involved with the "Saw" movies far away from this. Even the f*cking key grips. I want them to have nothing to do with this flick.

Daniel Craih isn't getting younger, either make the next bond or let other production company do it.

I wonder if they can get any actor to commit to killing kids by crashing a helicopter.

They'll probably do an analogy series in the movie like what was done with Twilight Zone ... although, how can you beat Dan Ackroyd ripping off his face and devouring his driver ?

I love the fact that MGM has put a hold on successful franchises to make this film. Ill put any amount of money that the least successful bond film will have made more money then this film

MGM is working on f*ck-all.

Shovel your sh*t elsewhere MGM... you're so Lohan!

The Outer Limits would be amazing... if done well (calling Mr. Nolan!).

But Bond and RoboCop are guaranteed money makers.

Yep MGM... you deserve to be broke.

They should make another Twilight Zone movie!

... with fewer real deaths.

These two guys are the lowest of the low of screenwriters, typing out ultra gory screamfests that are only capable of scaring tiny little kids that might mistakenly think that the graphically nauseating scenes might actually be real.

Besides that, generally just a lot of people that think it is pretty hilarious when a man shoves a screwdriver deeply into his skull because someone else told them that if they didn't, Something really bad was going to happen to them...

...Like making them perform anal on Lindsay Lohan.

Oh NOOOO!!!!

Certainly nowhere near the level of writing that people remember from the old Outer Limits television show.

Wasn't Harlan Ellison one of the writers for the old Outer Limits TV Show?

These two schmucks aren't capable of writing a single scene better than Ellison. In fact you could take a turd that Ellison dropped in the toilet after eating two bowls of extra spicy chili, and stick it in the middle of a completely blank screenplay.

And a director would be much more likely to turn the "Harlan Ellison turd in the middle of blank pages" into a successful movie than anything these two could come up with...
