Robert Rodriguez in Talks for "Deadpool"Submit Comment
It was recently rumored that 20th Century Fox was considering director Robert Rodriguez (Machete, Sin City) to helm the upcoming "Deadpool" spin-off. Then, Rodriguez confirmed to MTV that he has received the script, but wasn't sure if he would direct.

Now comes word from LA Times, that Rodriguez is officially in negotiations with the studio to tackle the project. There's still no contract, but the two sides are already discussing deal points.

Now that Rodriguez is done with "Machete," he will next take on "Spy Kids 4." There is a very good chance that "Sin City 2" will follow, placing "Deadpool" very far on the director's priority list. Stay tuned.

Ryan Reynolds recently confirmed that he's still working on "Deadpool," but made it seem that it will be a while before the character appears on the big screen again.

Again, more maybe, what if ?

Either Rob's gonna sh*t (do it) or get off the pot (don't). I couldn't give a rat's ass until he signs the contract. Till then, he's gonna do what he wants to do.

RR is one of those directors that i can't take serious at all because of the spy kids movies.

Someone made a good point on here the last time RR said about making Spy Kids 4 before he made Sin City 2.

He makes the Spy Kids type kid movies to then fund making movies like Sin City etc , Which was a good point because really why would he keep making that pile of crap if he really didn't have too.

Yes! Robert Rodriguez loves putting boobies in his films. Hope this one is R rated, that way Robert can convince Reynolds to have his wife work on the film as a live interest, that way they can work as a "family" and we finally get to see scarlet johansens boobs. Robert Rodriguez, you are our only hope

he needs to stop making sh*tty movies like spy kids so he can direct Deadpool

As a massive Deadpool fan, i would still prefer him to do Sin City 2, then Deadpool, then Spy Kids 4.

I'd much rather see Rodriguez make a Heroes For Hire film.

It's kind of amazing how Rodriguez just flips back and forth between family friendly kid flicks and ultra-violent actioners. I'm so souped for Machete, but why he decided to throw that in front of a much more important and audience-demanding picture, Sin City 2, is beyond me. Plus he decided to produce a somewhat entertaining Predator sequel before Machete which seemed very very random. Spy Kids 4 is gonna blow the series is just a lost cause at this point. Deadpool should be pretty sick if Rodriguez signs on, but its been taking so incredibly long for Sin City 2 to get moving that Deadpool will probably never make it to the big screen in Rodriguez's hands...unless he decides to tackle this and push Sin City 2 even farther back

And also if Green Lantern becomes a big hit, this will turn into another Chris Evans-was-already-the-Human-Torch incident where he's playing to different characters in the Marvel universe. Not like its really a bad thing, just an odd situation.

green lantern isnt marvel you idiot lol.you should be embarassed to say it so confidently lol,And he alread is in the Chris Evans scenario. He ALREADY played Deadpool, and that was a pretty big role, not some cameo. And now hes playing lantern. one is DC,other is marvel, and he also played hannibal king, another marvel character in blade 3
