Mark Millar Reveals "Kick-Ass 2" Plot DetailsSubmit Comment
MovieWeb caught up with comic book creator Mark Millar to talking about a sequel to "Kick-Ass," called "Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall." Millar said that he is writing the comic book follow-up and will then re-team with director Matthew Vaughn for the movie sequel in April.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

Millar goes on to talk about the sequel, stating that Red Mist will be the main villain and will be out for revenge. "This is a guy who has had his entire family killed by Hit Girl," he explained. "He heads off and develops his martial arts skills. He learns how to become a better villain. He is going to come back and wreck unholy vengeance on our team. But in reality, he just comes back and gets stoned, and he spends a lot of money. He can't do anything."

Millar continued: "So he hires this bad ass girl from Russia, she comes into the story, and her plan is to kill Hit Girl. Red Mist becomes like Charles Manson. He goes on-line and influences a bunch of young villains to go against Kick-Ass and Hit Girl. The whole thing ends up as a big gang fight like you'd see in 'The Warriors.' There is going to be a big gang fight in the middle of Times Square between all of these costumed heroes. And at the head will be the Red Mist and Hit Girl."

mehhh. Just remake The Warriors. Millar would be perfect for that.

I Thought Tony Scott was going make that movie ?

It would be an awesome remake if done right , this is one classic i wouldn't mind seeing remade.

Agreed. I watched The Warriors several months ago and thought that it had amazing potential. If done right it could be a masterpiece. But the premise has been used in that new Gladiator-like movie coming out soon... "Praetorian" or something.

I'm down. I still say f*ck Millar for being the sellout he is, but I' down for this cause Vaughn is a gangsta.

That doesn't sound too bad, a perfect turn your brain off and enjoy plot :) I'm curious about that end fight, that sounds somewhat badass.

Any project Millar is involved in will be good, I learned that long ago.

If he takes the warriors out of Brooklyn then f*ck Tony Scott. He's a great film maker (true romance) but the warriors are coney island heroes.
trailertrash writes:

Gamble- very true , they are coney island heroes and the film has to stay east coast and not take it over to LA or anything like that !!

More Hit girl the better.

You can't "remake" the Warriors. You could use the premise, but not remake it.

The film is almost like the live action Ninja Turtles, in that, the era it was made in, MADE the movie.

Considering the HUGE gang problem going on in the States right now, this might be a great time for a Warriors remake. I wouldn't do it in NY now that its one of the safer major US cities. Do it in Memphis, New Orleans, LA, Houston, or Detroit. The bigger and meaner the better. This seems like an easy concept to build a story around today. Rival gang gets accused of killing a bigtime gangsta and gets caught on the wrong side of town, what more do you need? Why can't these Hwood *ssholes see how easy it is to remake movies like this that were decent but could use a facelift? Here's a few more easy remakes:

Band of the Hand -- worst of the worst ganstas from rival youth gangs get sentenced to correctional program lead by a badass ex-gansta/cop. They learn the error of their ways but still get forced into banding together and taking on the gangs they originaly left.
Let's Get Harry -- son of military big wig gets captured on a covert op but US won't negotiate his release. Dad gets a band of retired military badasses to go get him.

Silver Bullet -- great movie (no description needed) but werewolf needs an update bad. Remember scene with the werewolf beating the guy with the baseball bat? That almost ruined a perfect film.

These are just a few but there are many more.

Sounds good!
rabid writes:

LoL, there's no real gang problem anymore. That sh*t lost its cool in the 90s. Cops love to think all crime is organized, and the gangs make good boogeymen, but there's not much truth to it all.
Still, a Warriors reboot in Memphis or NoLa would be tough as nails. Somebody call Craig Brewer.

Ok I got my comment delted where I said not bad on the idea, it may be a pretty good movie. WTF that was on the subject.
SACdaddy writes:

@Rabid: No gang problem? You haven't been to Chicago, Baltimore, LA, Memphis, Miami, or any of the border states lately have you? Just because the Bloods and the Crypts aren't center stage anymore doesn't mean the gang activity just went away. With it huge increase in hispanic gangs the problem might be worse now than ever. Don't believe me, take a trip to any hood USA sporting the wrong colors and you'll find out pretty quick.

rabid-yeah, that's it, all the gang violence is a myth. another brilliant post form rabid ...

I've been to all those places. The gangs are weak sh*t compared to how it was 15, 20 years ago. The Mexicans still love it, but they're always behind the times.
