Two Directors Rumored for "Wolverine" Sequel

Two Directors Rumored for "Wolverine" SequelSubmit Comment
Hugh Jackman has been talking about a "Wolverine" sequel, ever since the first film hit theaters. Bryan Singer was rumored to direct the new film, but he recently stated that his schedule won't allow it.

According to Playlist, 20th Century Fox has already approached other helmers, including Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) and Daniel Espinosa (Snabba Cash), who was considered for "X-Men: First Class." Even with such great choices, Fox has narrowed it down to Matt Reeves (Let Me In, Cloverfield) and Tony Scott (True Romance, Top Gun).

"Wolverine 2" will be based on a story by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont, which will take the title character to Japan. The plan was to begin filming in January, but that may end up being pushed back.

I love Tony Scott and Reeves proved to be trustworthy.

I think Tony Scott does allright making his own movies. Once you get into franchised movies it's difficult to go back.

Who voted for recasting Jackman for Denzel Washington?

Timur Bekmambetov!
it will suck,
so at least it should have kick ass
slo-mo scenes!

I'm bored of Jackmans ttake on Wolvie,recast and move away from Singers 'vision'. I'ts stale.

It would be hard for me to picture someone besides Jackman as Wolverine...

Verne for Wolverine! He's always wanted to star in an action movie. Wolverine's always been short technically. It's perfect. A dash of CG here, some wires there. Few hair plugs. And his wife can vouch for his abusive behavior which is just the aggression we need.

Who doesn't wanna hear a Wolverine go "SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" when he lunges into people and things?

I'd definitely be open to recasting Wolverine. Jackman doesn't look a whole lot like the comic character. He's not ugly, short or hairy.
I'm not sure who would be a great fit for this film. Frank Miller would be killer. Why is nobody asking him? He drew the sh*t to begin with.

The list of directors that WP mentions well they are good on their respective field or department but not on the comic book department.

-Bigelow will make a movie about Wolverine and a bomb (ala Wilson and Tom Hanks)

-Timur and Daniel are good but their filmmaking style will never make Wolvie look good.

-Matt Reeves is the better choice judging from his "Let me in" Trailer. But then again it was a trailer of a remake, nothing original there. If I think about Cloverfield I will lay a dump again on my bathroom, wait.. OK I'm back.

-Tony Scott had his great time, but what he likes to do now is suck Denzel's d*ck and make mediocre films. His vision for Wolverine would be as terrible bad as casting Whoopi Goldberg as Wolverine's love interest.

Take away (buy) Wolverine rights from Fox and make it an R-Rated movie directed by Edward Zwick, and walla...a lot of money, name and fame for whoever stole my idea. But you guys never learn, well do you punk!

Give it to Tony Scott. Still one of my fav directors. I remember seeing Crimson Tide in theaters when I was 12. Been watching his movies ever since.

Crap, based on a story by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont. I seriously hate the sh*t out of all of that stupid "Wolverine is really an honorable samurai" bullsh*t.

Well maybe if Tony Scott directs it they'll just edit Uma Thurman out of several scenes in the first Kill Bill movie and just insert Jackman as Wolverine...

...I'm sure Tarantino would be glad to provide the footage free of charge.
Inception writes:

I'm betting $160 billion bucks that Dustin Puta is gonna give The Expendables a 1/10 and Piranha 3D will receive a 10/10.

Inception writes:

@JohnZee:

He will insert Denzel Washington as Wolverine.
Ranger writes:

@FBO - great call!

@Inception - But not that Piranha 3D isn't worth 10/10 you're saying... lol

This is going to be a trainwreck that will make Origins look like Requiem for a Dream ...

Can't see Tony Scott saying yes. And frankly Reeves has more to gain by sticking with the JJ Abrams crew then directing POS #2: Legend of the Mutton Chops.

I dig the story they're basing this off of. My vote goes to Matt Reeves... last one sucked so I don't have a lot of hope for this but still. It could go somewhere with the right people involved.
