Magnet Releasing has unveiled the teaser trailer for their upcoming "Monsters" sci-fi movie, which is written and directed by Gareth Edwards and is set to hit theaters on October 29th. Check out the trailer below.

Plot: Six years ago previously, a NASA probe returning to earth with samples of an alien life form, crashed over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear, and half of Mexico was quarantined as an infected zone.

Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain "the creatures"... The story begins when a US journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.

For some reason when I saw the title I immediately thought of some lame Nickelodeon TV movie. This looks interesting however.

- This calls for a racist joke:

Q: What are the first 3 words in every Mexican cookbook?

A: Steal a chicken...

Dumb, Mexico is in North America, not in central

@Carl Erik Rinsch: Actually you are dumb. Central America is a part of North America.

This doesn't look that bad. Like a mixture of The Mist and Cloverfield.

Looks pretty good...

All you guys have said what I already think, but I shall say them anyway.

It's shot like District 9, feels like the suspense and pacing of Cloverfield, with the aliens of The Mist.

Not a bad little collection of themes to be working with. I do like that Guerilla Style, especially the kind from director of District 9.

I just hope the don't show more than this trailer does in future trailers/teasers, I'd hate for them to give more than needed away. I really love being completely enveloped in the movie with the "reveal" it's almost what you're paying for with a movie like this.

Looks good, I'm definitely interested ;)

While it looks good, they have stolen alot from District 9, which could bring this movie down.

Looks interesting.

Yeah definitely hope they don't give anymore away in future trailers. Obviously it is like District 9 however seems to not have the comedy aspect tho, prob closer to Cloverfield type film, as long as its done well these kind of film are always a good watch. May have beaten Abrams to the punch with Super 8

WTF? Since when Mexico is part of Central America and @Freudian_Nightmare since WHEN Central America is part of North America? oO
