James Franco's "Howl" TrailerPosted: July 15th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Today we have the trailer for "Howl," a drama about the life of Beat poet Allen Ginsberg, starring James Franco, Jeff Daniels, Paul Rudd, Jon Hamm, Alan Alda, David Strathairn and Mary-Louise Parker. Check it out below.
Plot: It's San Francisco in 1957, and an American masterpiece is put on trial. "Howl," the film, recounts this dark moment using three interwoven threads: the tumultuous life events that led a young Allen Ginsberg (Franco) to find his true voice as an artist, society's reaction (the obscenity trial), and mind-expanding animation that echoes the startling originality of the poem itself. All three coalesce in a genre-bending hybrid that brilliantly captures a pivotal moment-the birth of a counterculture.
The new movie is directed by documentarians Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, and is scheduled to hit theaters on September 24th, in limited release.

I'm a huge fan of his... this is way outside what ive seen him do. He can act.
But i dont think i'll like it or see it... looks gayer than his role in milk was.

Am I the only one who thinks that Franco has absolutely ZERO talent?
He was given the "Colin Farrell-Matthew McConaughey treatment" (which is where studios put him in over 20 movies in quick succession) and yet, not one of his performances has been memorable, except for his stoner performance in The Pineapple Express.

As much as I like Franco's work, I don't know about him as Allen Ginsberg ... Kerouac maybe ... but I'll have to wait and see what he does ...
