"30 Days of Night" Sequel Unveils Plot and Release DateSubmit Comment
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that the direct-to-DVD sequel to "30 Days of Night," called "30 Days of Night: Dark Days," will hit stores on DVD and Blu-ray on October 5th.

Plot: Nearly a year has passed since the population of Barrow, Alaska was decimated by a vicious clan of vampires during its annual 30 days of night. Terrorized by nightmares and haunted by her husband's murder, sole survivor Stella (Kiele Sanchez) has been trying desperately to expose the vampire threat to the world. When she's unexpectedly recruited by three other vampire attack victims, Stella sets out to reap vengeance upon Lillith, the vampire queen responsible for the Alaskan bloodbath. Now, these vampire hunters must venture into LA's dark and dangerous underbelly to try and stop the savage evil that is preparing to strike once again.

The DVD and Blu-ray will contain special features, including a filmmaker commentary, and a "Vampires Exist: The Gritty Realism of Dark Days" featurette. The Blu-ray release will also include an exclusive "Graphic Inspirations: Comic to Film" feature.

The film has a run time of 92 minutes and is rated 'R' for bloody violence, language and some sexual content.

Is it 30 days of night in LA too? Hate when they destroy a good title and f*ck it all up.

Liked the first 30 days of nights , this sounds like it could be like an American Psycho 2 style crap sequel .... Shame..

I like 30 Days of Night, but I'm just biding my time until they make Deep Space. More Barrow would just be boring. They should skip it and get to part where the vampire is on the space station.

It actually sounds like it's going to follow the actual Graphic Novel, Dark Days, pretty damn close.

lindsay lohan stars as the vampire queen, running through LA's dark and dangerous underbelly...with numerous crotch shots, blood, and a cameo by megan fox and her freakish toe-thumbs, this will be a horror classic!
BTW the first one sucked-ass people

The original movie wasn't bad, as far as horror films go, and at least the vampire in it didn't sparkle. But really the whole central plot is based on a completely erroneous addition to the vampire myth.

Sunlight does jack sh*t to vampires. So certainly no need to go somewhere that has no sunlight for an extended period.

The whole sunlight f*cking up vampires and killing them outright is a relatively new addition to vampire myth, and primarily just something that Hollywood adheres to and has little to do with the actual myths of old.

It all goes back to that old movie Nosferatu. When it came to the killing of the vampire at the end of that movie, the director decided that he would film that vampire being vaporized by the morning sun.

Some of the old myths imply that certain vampires were weakened by sunlight, but it was in the movies that the myth that sunlight would burn, kill, or vaporize them was originated and reinforced.

Sort of like the Hollywood myth about shooting a zombie in the brain or inflicting severe damage on its body can permanently take it down. Only if it is not "technically" a zombie.

f*ck me JohnZee, what are you, a Vampire Scientist? A Vampire film thats not totally acurate? Thats why these things are labeled under FICTION at blockbusters.

I have the graphic novel trilogy of these, and the 1st film was fairly colse to the 1st book. I thought it was ok for an adaptation. Better that Daredevil or Ghost Rider.

This 2nd one sounds like it strays off the path a little. Not one for buying methinks. Ill wait till its on the Horror channel or SyFy.
