Al Gore, Marketing GeniusPosted: December 20th, 2006 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

Laurie David, a producer of "An Inconvenient Truth," announced today that 50,000 DVD's of the documentary will be donated to teachers as a teaching tool in classrooms. Teachers will receive the DVDs on a first-come first-serve basis, plus a free downloadable curriculum guide is also available to accompany the film. The curriculum standards are designed to be used in high school Earth Science, Environmental Science, Physics, and Chemistry classes.
"An Inconvenient Truth has ignited a national movement to make the public aware of the effects of global warming and how each of us can contribute to the solution. By providing access to this film together with curriculum support materials for educators, we intend to support our teachers, advance the study of environmental science and contribute to a new generation of environmentally-conscious citizens," said Jim Berk, CEO, Participant Productions.
While Al Gore is doing a great job promoting his film, there are many scientists that believe his "facts" are all wrong. Their data shows that global warming is not caused by anything that humans can do. The process is so complex and contains so many factors, that pollution and other culprits may not play a significant role. If that is the case, then all Al Gore is doing, is promoting unjustified behavior, the kind that I wouldn't want my kids to learn.
My personal opinion on this, is that the teachers should not be deciding what to teach our kids, especially with an unproven topic, such as the causes of global warming and religion. This kind of thing should be ruled in courts or other high authority that evaluates all information from both sides.
