So they copied Red Dawn almost shot for shot and word for word, but they put it in England and gave it a different name. I'm actually OK with that. Update the story, change the setting, but keep the concept without having to get a cheap bump off the original's title. That's the way more remakes should be.

Sorry, I still have a hard time telling the difference between English and Aussies. Which is this?

BTW, what happened too the English World Cup team? They sure aren't representing. If the US can actually manage a win its over for the Brits right? LOL!!!!

I guess the english team can still advance with a win right? Man, the US sports world is pretty pissed after that horrible call in yesterday's match. Don't know if this will go along way to garnering more interest in the Cup for Americans or drive us further away from the sport. One thing I do know is that we love controversy and we love a challenge, so hopefully this highway robbery will inspire us to greatness.

i dont get why americans cant tell the diffrence between aussies and the english, and this is actully based on a book that was written well before red dawn came out. so dont go saying this is coping ok. Its like saying "oh slow motion bullet scenes they are copying the matrix, no they are copying korean movies 5 years before the matrix came out"

take long enough to get this trailer worstpreviews?

this movies based on a series of books by John Marsden, there are 7 books in the 'tomorrow' series and chronicals the lives of these teenagers who become guerilla fighters against people invading australia. Red dawn (original) is a piece of sh*t compared with the characters and story of these books which are huge in australia + NZ.

ive read the whole series and cannot f*cking wait for this movie!

I read the books when i was younger. Sure the general idea is the same as Red Dawn (teenagers fighting against an invading force). But the approach is completely different.

Face it, Red Dawn is a load of American propaganda. A montage of action scenes. It doesn't have any semblance of character development or drama. It doesn't tackle the themes of war. It doesn't really do much more than give teenagers something to yell when playing Call of Duty.

Although these complaints don't stop Red Dawn from being a f*ckin' sweet film.

Yah Ted, I posted this a couple of weeks ago. The story is awesome but I don't like how they have used all these soap actors!
SACdaddy writes:

Marsden started writing this series of books in 1993 almost a whole 10 years after Red Dawn had already become an AMERICAN classic which makes it a huge ripoff. Do some research jabronies.

LOL! Marsden hadn't published a single book before Red Dawn came out.

I think this looks cool...but didn't they pass a law in the 1990's and ban all private gun ownership and confiscate all private firearms from the public in NZ and Aus? If so how the f*ck are they supposed to fight back guerilla style, with mangled English to confuse the enemy troops while they spear them in the back with shrimp on the barbie?

To all you nay sayers and poo-poo-ers. You know nothing. This series of books, for those of you who can read or bother to pick up a book, is one of the most successful on the planet and left the veiled attempt of Red Dawn behind in an instant. But as with anything, The americans simply want to own everything and say that theyre the best when all theyre really good at is throwing a big budget and brand name actors at a film to make it successful. Heaven forbid they should actually take credit for a great story based on merit.

I saw a pre-screening of this movie last night. The fresh cast of more than capabale actors have shown how seriously they wanted to portray this story. It's not about one american at the top of a hill brandishing propoganda and kickassery. It's a story that confronts our moral nature and realistically - I'll say it again, "realistically" delivers the emotional turmoil and crisis that the books portrayed.
For all of you that want to stick to your block buster movies with hard core action, go and revisit that section in your video store and entertain yourself before you try to evolve enough to offer any valued criticism of this movie.
Brilliant, cant wait to see the next installment A+
