Leonardo DiCaprio Set for Clint Eastwood's J Edgar Hoover Biopic

Posted: June 17th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Leonardo DiCaprio Set for Clint EastwoodSubmit Comment
Deadline has learned that Leonardo DiCaprio has officially signed on to play J Edgar Hoover, the controversial FBI director who founded the organization in 1935 and remained director until his death in 1972.

The new movie will be directed by Clint Eastwood (Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino), who will begin filming later this year from a script by Dustin Lance Black (Milk).

Hoover made the FBI what it is today an efficient crime-fighting organization in part by harassing dissenters and building secret files on politicians. He is most often associated with his role in fighting the gangster wars in the '30s and, later, the Mafia.

^If they wanna make an honest movie that's faithful to Hoover's real life, then he'd better.

I also heard that when Hoover was a boy, his horse was drafted to fight in the first World War. Crazy plot twist - he enlisted and went to France to find him. True story.

"Hoover made the FBI what it is today"

lazy, not efficient, can't take care of the crime problems now and can't find a 7 foot sand monkey with a 5 foot white beard? What a guy!

Ohhhhhh THAT Clint Eastwood! I thought they meant the Clint Eastwood that lives in a van down by the river!

I love it when they write up about a first rate legend/icon and they list his credits... or they're interviewing such people on TV and their name shows up at the bottom of the screen. If you don't know who Clint Eastwood is... kill yourself today!

Leo + Clint could be good, but for this project I'm not so sure.

They just showed a shot of Leo in the crowd at the NBA finals sitting with some hot piece of ass, as usual. Jeff Van Gundy (one of the announcers) said "We should get the camera off Leo and get it on his girlfriend!" LOL!!! The guy's a playa!

Valerie writes:

They need to go to town with this one, Leo needs to cross dress, and hook up with guys, because its part of Hoover's life, and his complex characther!

In the hands of Eastwood, and with Leo this could be great.
trailertrash writes:
on June 18th, 2010 at 11:22:48 AM

^^ Can't imagine Eastwood concentrating on the cross dressing / homosexual side of Hoover in this movie at all !!

Will be more like the untouchables i would have thought.
Valerie writes:
on June 18th, 2010 at 4:54:35 PM

^ Perhaps it could be at least implied? I mean they dont need to go to overt, but it should be included imho.
trailertrash writes:
on June 19th, 2010 at 5:51:13 AM

I doubt they will even implie it unless it has a major influence on the story line Eastwood is looking to tell.

Like you said in clints hands could be a good movie with or without the cross dressing..
Dre-EL writes:
on June 20th, 2010 at 4:49:44 PM

I guess leo could look good in a dress. will they show him fighting crime in a panty hose, or maybe save for those interigation scenes.
