Breck Eisner Developing Dracula vs Jack the Ripper MoviePosted: June 14th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Fearnet had the chance to speak with Insight Studios comic book creator Mark Wheatley, who revealed that after director Breck Eisner (The Crazies) is done with the "Escape From New York" remake, he will next be working on an adaptation of his Dracula graphic novel "Blood of the Innocent."
"It's Dracula versus Jack the Ripper. That's it. That's the whole concept," said Wheatley about the new project. "The events that take place in Stoker's Dracula, date by date, mesh perfectly with the Jack the Ripper murders. That was the core of what started us off on doing the story."
He added that even though Eisner is currently trying to sell "Blood of the Innocent," he will not make Jack the Ripper into a vampire like some studios have suggested. There will, however, be a love story included. "I should point out that an underpinning of the story is a romance between Dracula and a woman," said Wheatley.

Yep. Jack will win. No contest.
OR
Dracula's love interest is really transvestite Jack the Ripper and the rest of the movie is a big push for gay rights.

I don't understand, the film would be over within five minutes. Dracula has powers and would kill Ripper, who's only a pure mortal psycho, within the first scene of the movie. Evil vs. evil is not a good concept the winner is still evil, where's the good in that. Directors are really running out of ideas, what's next, Freddy vs. Michael Meyers vs. Jaws vs. Optimus Prime vs. Harry Potter vs. King Kong vs. Jackie Chan vs. Chuck Norris vs. a script idea with no story that's only based on jump scenes, blood, music, gore, and has been done before 1 million times over.
the end. (horror movies= no ideas, just crap)

So it's Love at First Bite meets From Hell ... wonder if Susan Saint James needs extra money ? God only knows George Hamilton has outragous tanning salon bills (for going ' brazilian ' ) and Arte ? Well, Arte's dead, but his corpse would make a pretty cool prop.

Robert Rodriguez Offered to Direct Deadpool
June 14th, 2010
Rodriguez to direct Deadpool?Director Robert Rodriguez certainly has a lot on his plate lately and now it seems that 20th Century Fox could add another project to his slate. The Playlist confirmed a report from Production Weekly that Rodriguez has been given an offer to direct Deadpool.
We reported back in January that Zombieland screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were hired to write the screenplay for the film, but this is the first we've heard about a director being offered the job. Ryan Reynolds is on board to portray the title character, reprising his role from last year's X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
It was said that the studio has only offered the job to Rodriguez and he hasn't decided if he will take the job or not, although the site said he was considering the gig. We'll be sure to keep you posted with any further details on Robert Rodriguez's involvement with Deadpool as soon as we have more information.
Deadpool is in development and stars Ryan Reynolds.
