Paramount Pictures Confirms Les Grossman Movie

Paramount Pictures Confirms Les Grossman MovieSubmit Comment
Tom Cruise has already hinted at this, but Paramount Pictures has now confirmed that it will develop a movie around mega-producer Les Grossman, a character played by Cruise in "Tropic Thunder" and during the MTV Movie Awards.

"Les Grossman's life story is an inspiring tale of the classic human struggle to achieve greatness against all odds," said Ben Stiller, who will produce along with Cruise. "He has assured me he plans to quote, 'F*cking kill the sh*t out of this movie and make Citizen f*cking Kane look like a piece of crap home movie by the time we are done.' I am honored to be working with him."

When asked what the screenplay was about Grossman (Cruise) responded: "To quote my great friend Kirk Lazarus, 'I don't read the script, the script reads me.'"

Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) will write the script.

Tom cruise did a great job portraying this character. Made me laugh my ass off. But a small role was enough. I don't think he can be as fun the entire time in a 90 minute movie.

hope they get it right...they should bring some of the cast of 'tropic thunder' to support cruise...

How can you not love a producer that quotes Citizen f*cking Kane, probably looks like he's balls deep more models anally, while snorting more Columbian marching powder and has his understudy male assistants flog his flabby ass with Singapore canes than Robert Evans ... all the while putting up with Kirk Lazarus' wild antics on the balcony in Alcapulco with that hooker Lupe, that Panamanian dog he named " Gregory Pecker ", three bags of lime (for later), the shovel (for later), a nickel plated 9 mm (for later), angel dust, a SONY camcorder, a dwarf from the local sideshow, 40 tamales shoved into individual Trojan rimmed condoms and rancid cottage cheese .... wow. THAT was a night for ol' Kirk.

So Tom Cruise is trying to be like Eddie Murphy now? Hmmm...failing career so let me just put on a bunch of prosthetics and make a jackass out of myself. It's so hollywood to try and capitalize on the Grossman character instead of Stiller actually writing a different movie and making a new character for Cruise. He's just turning into a f*cking joke. Wait, did I say turning into? I meant to say he was born a f*cking joke.
SACdaddy writes:

I'm all for this but I'm also a little confused. Didn't Paramount fire Cruise a few years ago after the coach jumping incident? I could be wrong considering they made Tropic Thunder and have this in development.

Thx. Paramount... that's generous.

Tom Cruise makes you billions of $'s, and you fire him because your President's wife didn't think he was 'sexy anymore' after he jumped on Oprah's couch (literally meaning her couch, not her crotch)... to what... punish him? Teach him a lesson? To prove the President had hiring and firing rights? I mean there are a lot worse things out there than jumping on a couch to profess your love for a woman.

Paramount... lick my balls!

As for Tom... great for you!

Paramount... suck it!

@trailer - lol.

You know what I'm liking more and more about WP (except the pathetic, attention-seeking, not hugged enough as a kid - lurkers)?

At least the regular, kewl crowd on here don't get their meat curtains tied in knots when one lays down a racial remark (like they did on here in the old days), knowing it's just for shock value... just for chuckles.

And that's a great thing.

And I miss Gary.

Is Lohan still alive?

Exactly ,We come on here Have a good laugh and talk about movies it's all good, why people as you say get their meat curtains (lol) tied in knots is beyond me....

On Gary We saw Avenue Q the other weekend (before he was MURDERED) and they use him strongly in the story line, they had some nice references in there about him and a great song called everyone's a little bit racist very funny..

And i'm afraid LL is still alive (for now)

It's funny cuz Citizen Kane IS a piece of crap. It is one of the most seriously overrated movies ever made. Now if it was starring Len Grossman....?? That might be a different story.

Avenue Q is a Broadway musical with Sesame Street-style puppets singing very non-PC songs.

If Les Grossman was a real person his 15 minutes of fame would be up by now. Funny, but he'll never carry a movie. Oh wait the masses love crap like that!!!
Ranger writes:

@mandevil - why so serious?
PhantomCloneInX writes:
on June 10th, 2010 at 7:42:02 PM

@mandevil, I agree. I don't think that the Les Grossman character will be able to support an entire film by himself. He was funny in small doses throughout "Tropic Thunder", but honestly, by the end of the movie I was a little tired of the character already. His dance scene at the end was incredibly unfunny.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong, and they'll surround Grossman with other funny characters, but in all honesty this seems like another one of loony Tom Cruise's desperate grabs to hold onto fame.

Long time no speak. I usually just sit and read sh*t lately, too lazy to click at the top to log in EVERYTIME i come to this website but as always am entertained by the comments by ranger, sac, lostaddict (i am as well), among others. So, quick question: Isn't the fact that Tom Cruise was heavily used as the MTV shows big star like 2 years too late? If they wanted to make an impact they should've done that right after the movie came out. It's already in the favorite's section of your local blockbuster. I had no idea what anyone was talking about with this "Les Grossman" sh*t on the website. For a couple days I saw the headline that he and Tom Cruise would be making a movie and I sat there hurting my brain trying to figure out who that dude was. ANYWAY, it would be cool. His character was the only entertaining part of the movie. Everything else sucked...well, besides rdj.
Ranger writes:
on June 11th, 2010 at 1:38:22 AM

@rabid - lol... well said.

@faded - good post (you should do so more often), and thx. for the compliment, AND good question(s).

I think we're seeing just how slow Hollywood truly moves. Add to that, the fact Tom is still sorta/kinda blacklisted, thus he's having to jump through hoops these days which he sure didn't have to back in the day. Back when he was like a Jr. Eastwood (no offense Clint), if Tom made it... Paramount would distribute it (like Warner's does for Clint). But since the couch-jumping incident (which to this day I still feel if that freaks people out, they should maybe tune in to human genocides in Rwanda or human treatment in the Congo, and a couple of dozen other places on the planet and get their head out of their ass).

Oh... and Shannon Price is a MURDERER!!!
