The Lizard is the Main Villain in "Spider-Man" Reboot?

The Lizard is the Main Villain in "Spider-Man" Reboot?Submit Comment
We just reported that Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds, 300) has been offered to play Magneto in Matthew Vaughn's "X-Men: First Class" or the villain in the "Spider-Man" reboot.

Now comes word from BleedingCool that the main villain in "Spider-Man" will be Dr. Curt Connors, who eventually becomes The Lizard. The site added that it is not clear whether Fassbender has been offered to play The Lizard or another villain.

It makes sense that The Lizard will be involved since Peter Parker will return to high-school in the remake. It's just too bad that actor Dylan Baker never got to play the villain in Sam Raimi's trilogy.

For those not familiar with the comics, Curt Connors tried to re-grow his amputated arm by uncovering the secrets of reptilian limb regeneration, eventually turning into The Lizard.

WTf, they sohulda had the the lizard as the main baddy for the 4th movie in Raimi's movies and not start him off as the main baddy in the reboot franchise, they are so f*cking this up.

Maybe the reboot will take the character in a different direction. a gay Spiderman?

Sony and/or Raimi should have brought The Lizard in sooner. If they make him the size Vemon should have been, bad-ass reptilian strength, but with Connors mind... this would be kick-ass!

Sony - you suck!

Have spidey leave his mask on at all times since tobey Macguire is not in it

That way I maybe can enjoy it more

not hating on Curt Conners... but Sony cuts the budget down to $80 million to focus on story and the first villain they pick is The Lizard?? Yes, Sony why don't you hire the graphic team that's doing 'Sharktopus' and make the Lizard.

I wanted this for so long but without Raimi directing, especially with his creative mind on things scary, it's just gonna be a huge waste with Marc Webb behind the director chair. f*ckin Sony

Wow, how predictable. They wanted it so bad and now they are just throwing it into a reboot. What trash! Let me know when Sony develops a brain and calls Raimi and McGuire and kisses their asses to get them back. What kills me is that all three Spider-Man films were broke box office records and since Hollywood is all about money I am shocked they didn't just let Raimi do his frikkin' job.

Tips for new Spider-Man:

1. Don't hire someone who's almost 30 or older to play a high-school aged Peter Parker.

2. Cast actresses that can act and aren't repulsive tramps like Kirsten Dunst.

3. Don't cram too many villains into the film.

4. Please, God, no emo dance moves, convenient cases of amnesia, or an expository butler who comes out of nowhere.

5. Keep Spider-Man's f*cking mask on....EVEN DURING THE CLIMAX. People are paying to see Spider-Man; not BIG NAME ACTOR in Spider-Man costume.

6. Utilize villains intelligently; The Lizard is a good one to use, and when you finally get around to Venom--don't f*ck it up.

That is all for now.
mandevil13 writes:

No, The Lizard should have been the villian in the third movie, Raimi never thought he could pull it off, he thought that The Lizard had too many horror elements for a PG13 super hero movie. too bad though I wish I could have seen Baker as the lizard, sucks that the third movie sucked so bad, and that they're doing a reboot.
masht7 writes:

Even though I do want The Lizard to be in Spider-Man, DYLAN BAKER WOULD OF BEEN FINE IN THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY. f*ck YOU SONY AND YOU SONY EMPLOYEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
masht7 writes:

Or how about do what happened in the James Bond Reboot and keep one of the original actors/actress. J.K Simmons or Dylan Baker, now thats a good idea.

Sony has said that they want these new spiderman movies to be modeled after twilight. I guarenDAMNtee this movie is going to suck! And my prediction is it's going to BOMB too, because twilight is made for naive tween aged retarded girls who think that love concurs all including suicidal looking cannibalistic boyfriends and beastility fantisies with oversized puppy dogs (that warewolf would tear a hole between that chicks legs big enough to make her look like Lohan's stunt double), where Spiderman is a character that was given to nerdy guys as an underdog that always wins.
Ranger writes:

How about Shannon Price as The Lizard?

@FBO - 'Sony has said that they want these new Spiderman movies to be modeled after twilight.' --- tell me you're bullsh*tting me!

FBO writes:
on June 10th, 2010 at 2:30:26 PM

@ Ranger - the rumor is that Sony execs are jealous of twilight's fame and think they can duplicate it with spiderman, why else are they modeling the character after the ultimate spiderman, meaning that they'll keep him in high school and that the majority of the script will be about pp's EMOtions; hiring marc webb to direct; and even had Rob Patterson, from twilight, to read for the part... even though they decided that he's too old to be believable.
FBO writes:
on June 10th, 2010 at 2:40:49 PM

Sony seems to think that the buying power in the world right now is twilight fans.

@Sony Execs.- JUST BECAUSE A FORMULA FOR A MOVIE WORKS FOR THAT PARTICULAR MOVIE DOESN'T MEAN THE SAME FORMULA WILL WORK FOR YOUR RETARDED MOVIE!
thedotsays writes:

This is an absolute slap in the face to Baker. The guy deserves to play the role he's been borderlining for the last 8 years.

The whole idea of this reboot continues to sicken me.

rabid writes:

I think what they intend to emulate from Twilight is not the drama, but the budget. Twilight was incredibly successful and cost a small sum to make, $37mil.
Spider-Man 3 cost $500mil.
Perhaps they believe that a 4th Raimi film would net about the same as a cheapo Webb film in the end, so they're out to save money.
rabid writes:
on June 11th, 2010 at 1:02:53 AM

Their budget is rumored to be $80mil this time around.
Salvador writes:

Dylan Baker could have been great...:(
