Michael Fassbender Wanted for "Spider-Man" and "X-Men: First Class"

Michael Fassbender Wanted for "Spider-Man" and "X-Men: First Class"Submit Comment
Michael Fassbender, the actor behind "300" and "Inglourious Basterds" and the upcoming "Jonah Hex" film, is being offered roles in two different Marvel comic book movies.

Showbiz411 is reporting that director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) has approached Fassbender to star as Magneto in "X-Men: First Class." James McAvoy has already been cast as the young Professor X.

At the same time, director Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) is in talks with Fassbender to play the villain in the "Spider-Man" reboot. No word on which villain he is being considered for.

While Fassbender would likely want to take both parts, his schedule won't allow it, which means that he would eventually have to choose.

Michael Fassbender, the actor behind "300" and "Inglourious Basterds" and the upcoming "Jonah Hex" film,

How misleading is this making it sould like he created the f*cking films. Shame on you WP

I never even heard of him.

that's Stelios from 300
He did a great job. I say go for neither.
But if you got no choice, X-men 1st Class.

Again, I'm REALLY getting tired of the "Superhero Era", as I call it. That is to say, I'm tired of this avalanche of action/adventure movies/sequels/remakes/reboots based on comic books/video games/TV shows/older movies. I loved it when it started, but I'm just bored of it now. It seems as though everything is just a copy of a copy of a copy-and so on to infinity. I look forward to the day when Hollywood takes a risk and offers us something new. And if it doesn't come soon, I'll bring it myself.

Don't worry, Left - the new "Twilight" is just around the corner. Next to the tranny shooting speedballs between his toes. And AIDS. Lots and lots of AIDS.

Not bad choice for magneto...but to be honest I think almost any1 can be a good young magneto...lol bring back the kid from the first one who tore down the gates during the holocaust seperation scene . He should be about right age now

Michael Fassbender's a hot commodity on Comicbookmovie. Fans want him to play a member of of Daredevil's rogue gallery of villains, Bullseye. I don't know if he's psycho, but he can sure grin like no one's business.

I could see him as a young Magneto, though.

He has to choose between Magneto, one of the most powerful mutants ever, and a role of a spiderman villain not yet disclosed probably (not a good one considering his age). Though X-men would be ensemble acting, he'd get more screentime on Spiderman

Plus isn't Xavier supposed to be his senior by 10 or so years? Not younger than him by 2?

Love the Fassbender. Although I sound like a fruit saying I love a man that has a name that comes close to sounding like, Assbender. Minus the 'F' also can also imply f*ckin' Assbender. Damn, I'm digging myself into my own grave with this one.
