William Shatner appeared on "The Late Late Show" discussing his role in the upcoming "Star Trek XI" film. Now that director J.J. Abrams has confirmed helming the new film, he apparently also wants Shatner and Leonard Nimoy in on the project somehow. The big problem is how they will deal with Kirk's death at the end of "Star Trek: Generations." This is something Shatner has been obsessing about, and has done much talking about as well everywhere he goes. "It's easy for Leonard, because Spock's alive. But I'm dead," he said.
The video is of Shatner talking about his role in the film, and only God knows what Craig Ferguson is talking about. That guy is truly terrible.
Shatner has suggested to Abrams to cast unknowns for the roles of James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock, but at this point Matt Damon has been rumored to play the role of Kirk. Damon has not been approached with this, but he is surely interested. Paramount Pictures has scheduled "Star Trek XI" for July 2nd, 2008.
