Actor Hank Azaria ("The Simpsons") is playing the Gargamel in the upcoming "The Smurfs" movie, and has been spotted shooting scenes around New York. Below are a few of those videos, including one in which Gargamel runs into Neil Patrick Harris. Plus according to some other videos, it looks like Gargamel's cat, Azrael, will be a real cat and not a CG one.
In the new movie, the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village and they tumble from their magical world into ours – in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.
The live-action/CG animated film is directed by Raja Gosnell (Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Scooby-Doo) and is will appear in 3D and 2D theaters on August 3rd, 2011.
Wow. Looks exactly what you could except from a chihuahua
