Wrestler Triple H Stars in Kids Comedy "The Chaperone"

Wrestler Triple H Stars in Kids Comedy "The Chaperone"Submit Comment
WWE Studios has announced that wrestler Triple H will star in the upcoming kids action comedy "The Chaperone," based on a script by playwright turned screenwriter SJ Roth.

The new movie is about a just released, ex-con dad who unwittingly becomes a chaperone for his teen daughter's class trip to New Orleans, while he is on the run from his old cronies who are trying to kill him.

We have obviously seen this concept before in films like "The Pacifier" with Vin Diesel, "Mr. Nanny" with Hulk Hogan, "Kindergarten Cop" with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and "The Gameplan" with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

"The Chaperone" shoot is tentatively scheduled for Summer 2010, in New Orleans.

Is this in anyway similiar to Mr Nanny, The Tooth Fairy, or Suburban Commando? Im tired of these dumb ass movies, about huge bastards with muscles who have a heart of gold.

Good for H. We can all see how these movies opened up several doors for the previous actors.

Ah yes, cause if there's one thing we learned from "Blade: Trinity", it's that Triple should star in family friendly movies! Can't wait for the obligatory fight scene where he clotheslines and suplexes the bad guys.

First he was in Blade III Trinity, now THIS ?!?!?!!?

We can pretty much guess that this is produced by WWE Films, the Criterion of wrestling-acting movies ...

Here's something I heard a few years ago. Hollywood hates making these types of movies, despite the contractual deals that come with them ... now, that seems asinine, but the reason they do is because the ones who push for quality films, what we can independent films, see them never greenlighted as quickly, because we, the moviegoing public, will overspend for slop, swill, like this movie. It will definitely pull in the fans that like wrestling, and there are many; but you will never see any greenlit quality movie come out that has stayed on the shelf for years due to continual sub-standard, audience insulting stuff like this.

If he was actually able to act, like 4 months ago I was hoping that he would have been casted as either conan the barbarian or even as thor. But he can't act for sh*t. That's y he hasn't done a movie since blade 3. It helped ryan reynolds but not triple h. Lol

I wouldnt have added Game Plan to that list, nobody was trying to kill the rock.

Triple H?

Hefty, Homo, Hermaphrodite?

Triple H would have been an amazing Thor or Conan the Barbarian, but instead he is "The Chaperone", well that sucks. A guy that could easily make solid action films ends up being in a kid's comedy.

WWE films are literally garbage, example; "The Marine" is an insult to the Marines. "See no evil", well I never saw one. "12 Rounds" well the movie didn't last up to 12 rounds, and last but not least "The Condemned", an absolutely bad rip off "Battle Royale".

What's next? I got an idea, The Undertaker stars in "The Casket", a film ripping off "Pet Cemetery".

RE: The Undertaker suggestion... lol.

@ Ranger
I bet Studio executives wanted Triple H for the role of Conan but because of his WWE contract and specially Vince knowing he could easily lose him the same way he lost The Rock, Vince didn't let him become the barbarian instead some chaperone.

Not a doubt in my mind.

Vince's douche-baggery is well-known!
lawman writes:

I dont think Vince is allowed to tell them what they can and cant be in. I think he only owns THE NAME they use. I am sure Triple H is not allowed to be in anything without Vinces approval but Paul Michael Levesque ( Triple H's real name) can do whatever he wants. But, no, he is not a great actor, so his options are limited. I think the Rock on the other hand, is good enough to be the next major action Hero. The problem is, Action movies, unless they are massive blockbusters, dont get you more roles. Kids movies make more money due to a wider audience, get funded quicker since there are no ratings issues, and grow the actors names quicker. So the Rock and Triple H are taking the easy path. BTW, the Marine didnt discrace Marines, it really only used the name. There was very little mention of him being a Marine in the movie. See no evil sucked but Kane owned the part and for what he had to do, his acting was not bad at all!

I think Vince is an *sshole but the wrestlers turned movie stars should not bash him. He made them. If not for him, they wouldnt even have the chance to talk sh*t about Vince. Its the same as with Lorne Micheals. SNL alum bash the sh*t out of him but who the f*ck would they be without him?
