Frankenstein Elvis Coming Soon

Frankenstein Elvis Coming SoonSubmit Comment
Alan Goldsher's upcoming novel "Paul Is Undead: The British Zombie Invasion" is a story about Mick Jagger hunting The Beatles who have all turned into zombies. MTV has now caught up with Goldsher, who revealed that his follow-up book is "Frankenstein Has Left the Building," bringing Elvis Prestley and Frankenstein's monster together.

"I am taking 'Frankenstein' the book and rewriting it with Elvis [Presley] as the creature," he explained. "The book takes place in the 1960s. It's still the same format as the original 'Frankenstein,' which is Dr. Frankenstein is relating the story to the ostensible narrator of the book."

Goldsher continued: "It's going to be very close in terms of story arc. All of the same characters are going to be there, but it's going to be written in a whole new voice. Our Frankenstein character, he's from the South, just like [the real] Elvis."

But why mash Frankenstein with Elvis? "There's a big overlap with the Frankenstein story and the Elvis Presley story in that they're both fabricated entities," he said. "Frankenstein the creature is made from parts and Elvis was put together by really intelligent record label people. It could be argued that he was the first prefab artist. And then, both the creature and Elvis spent their lives looking for love and acceptance."

A movie deal has yet to be made for "Frankenstein Has Left the Building," but it will inevitably happen.

Step 1. take a mythical creature from the list: werewolf, zombie, mummy, unicorn, centaur, chupacabra, mothman. Step 2. Take a pop culture reference from the list: Elvis, Beatles, Marilyn Monroe, Abraham Lincoln, Lindsey Lohan, Shaq. Step 3. MASH THAT sh*t UP!!!!

From the beginning I thought this guy was original and funny. That feeling is fading quickly.

He's just going to keep coming out with them sh*ts. I guess my dream of seeing ''They call me Bruce'' on the big screen is fading away.

Between the fried banana and peanut butter sandwiches, the drugs, the tours, Colonel Tom Parker, f*cking the sh*t out of Priscilla, staring in bad musical movies, recording and buying Caddies for his friends ... when does Frankenelvis have the time ?

You're better off having Keith Richards being a vampire. It would make more sense and explain a hell of a lot.
Max Rockatansky Junior writes:

So Colonel Tom Parker would be Igor ?

If this happens, I'd like to see Sullivan try to keep Frankenelvis ' The Pelvis ' Presley from swiveling his hips on TV ... he'd probably snap Ed's neck like a breadstick

So that would make Priscilla the Bride of Frankenstein .... and Lisa Marie ? The bitch daughter ...

@Freudian

He's doing to literature and history what they do when they mashup songs from rock and rap ... only, worse.

@trailertrash

Amen to that ... I mean what's next ?

Bob Dylan as a golem ?

Prestley? WTF? Who's getting fancy and trying to type with one eye tied behind their back?!

lol... lovin' the Keith Richards, Lohag and Coleman comments!

I don't think this movie idea is that bad. I like the unusual stuff (no, not sex with animals... yet), this could be weird/entertaining enough for a chuckle/watch.

PS: have Mega Shark coming in the mail this week. Who can sleep?!?!

@Ranger ...

Thanks :)

I tried to figure out the Mummy, but when you saw Andy d*ck play Woody Allen as the Mummy, how can you top that ?

Joan Rivers as the Mummy ?

This isn't a bad idea. At least it's not a remake or reboot.

It's nice to see someone use their imagination on a " What if " ... like they used to do with Marvel characters ...

if it's a comedy then there is no problem here.
Ranger writes:

@Max - holy crap! You remember 'What If?' with Marvel?! Nice.
Max Rockatansky Junior writes:
on May 25th, 2010 at 9:46:04 PM

@Ranger. Yep. My favorite is when the Punisher took out the whole Marvel Universe or the Inferno What If with Peter's sister ... that was a wicked series ...

I also remember the New Universe with Star Brand, etc and Secret Wars One and Two with The Beyonder, who resembled Hasselhoff on steroids ...

Note : If they did Keith Richards as Dracula, it could bring some legitmacy to the joke of the last things on Earth ... roaches and Keith Richards.

Ranger-"What If" rocks. i read a lot of them, including the Punisher one @max was speaking of, that one is f*cking awesome. there was also another awesome one when Spider-man took out the burglar who killed Uncle Ben before he even left the wrestling building and went on to become an arrogant ass-hole actor. Daredevil was his body-guard ... it kicked ass.
Ranger writes:
on May 26th, 2010 at 2:14:08 AM

@Max - lol... Keith Richards. Saw Mick on Larry King the other night. Well spoken, honest.

@Max & encore: The 'What If's' you mention are after my time in collecting. But I was collecting when the series started.

It was genius to re-work (reboot if you will) the original stuff into something else completely original. Great lessons that one can make the change in destiny everyday (change or set it on the path it was meant to be anyway... in the universe we know).

I don't see this film ever happening. Prescilla's copyright on Elvis' image and name is kept under lock and key. In Bubba-Hotep and in the Naked Man, they couldn't legally refer to him as Elvis. and I seriously doubt he will be turning up to help Sookie in True Blood as he does in the books.
Prescilla would never sign off on it.
