"Captain America" is Largely Set and Filmed in EuropeSubmit Comment
Marvel Studios were originally planning to shoot "The First Avenger: Captain America" in Los Angeles, but decided against it when they found out that California doesn't give tax breaks to films costing over $75 million.

As a result, production moved to London. The studio claims that the reason wasn't only to get a 25% tax break, but that the movie is largely set in Europe and will feature a number of scenes in London such as Piccadilly Circus.

Joe Johnston (The Wolfman) is directing the new movie, which scheduled to hit theaters on July 22nd, 2011.

Makes sense, what's more American than tax evasion?

@Captain America

I can't say much here in Texas (since we have Governor Mousse-Hair), but when California elects a Governor that can't pronounce the word California ... " you know you're in deep sh*t. " ~ Billy Connolly

Captain America is the greatest super hero ever depicted on paper. Joe Johnston is a untrustworthy director, with bad casting sense. This sh*t has been keeping me up at night.
rabid writes:

Joe Johnston's never made a bad film. Why would he start with this one?

Johnny Boy, I read that there's a scene where they introduce Cap to America at a Stark Expo.

I hope Cap looks as good in the film as he does in the picture above.

When there is no Lohan or coleman news what else do you expect them to report on, oh wait this is WP nevermind they will report on the most insignificant obvious sh*t any way.
