First Look: Steven SpielbergSubmit Comment
Just today Fox announced its new series "Terra Nova" from executive producer Steven Spielberg (Jurassic Park), and has already released the first teaser image from the show, making it look like a rip-off of "Avatar." Check it out below.

"Terra Nova" is an epic family adventure 85 million years in the making. The action-adventure series follows an ordinary family on an extraordinary journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a part of a massive expedition to save the human race.

The new show will debut at mid-season in early 2011 on Fox.

Ehh... I'll give it a shot... sounds better then every sh*t reality show on tv today... n i loved Jurassic Park... Even though it sounds like a complete rip off of Land of the Lost... the old tv series... not the sh*tty movie made last summer that BOMBED... I forgive you Danny McBride

I hope my good friend Steven doesn't drop the ball on this one.

As usually posted when a Spielberg thread comes up... I too think the man has lost his edge. We sometimes forget how many decades he's been producing the volume of (usually great) work that he has... but yeah, I think he's slipping and taking the really easy, obvious commercial stuff on.

Ranger-probably right, however i don't think it started with the new Star-Wars saga, 'sept for the second it was great ... oh ... and Jar Jar ... and kid Anakin .... and Kid Boba Fett ... and Darth Tyranus ... huh huh ... i said anus ....

Wow, Steven ... you have the Midas touch ... if Midas was Bobcat Goldwaithe and the touch was to turn ideas to sh*t.

Jurassic Park was great because they used robots and not a lot of CGI (if there are any CGI, I sure can't see it). But stuff like that cost a lot of movie, movie that can be spent on a movie, but not in a series. They'll chicken and have a bunch of CGI-dinos and it'll probably suck.

@ranger - Agree , The last 15 years or so has been very hit and miss.

He gets involved in so many projects as a producer now , maybe he picks the easy options as director because he doesn't have the time to give to 1 project anymore.

You look at his producing credits they start in the late 80's (other films not his own) by then he had already done Jaws, Close encounters, raiders and temple , ET , color purple.

He best movies since the late 80's early 90's Saving ryan , Schinders list, Jurassic Park , other projects he was involved with while making these movies were more on an executive producer level maybe that gave him more time to spend on his directing. Maybe take a step back and concentrate on one movie for once, maybe do it with indy 5 so we can forget about part4.

Just a theory. In my opinion his not so good is better than 60% of the movies that get made today anyway.

The Guy's a Legend (nearly said a God) lol

i just don't get how a human being can say to himself that would could be physically possible, even for a show, to have regular humans live in the Jurassic period. you wouldn't last two seconds.
