Why is "Rambo 5" Promoted at Cannes Film Festival?Submit Comment
Sylvester Stallone has been talking about a fifth "Rambo" movie even since the fourth one hit theaters. But a few days ago, he said that he won't be making any more "Rambo" installments and that he will instead focus on "The Expendables" sequel.

But if you walk around the Cannes Film Festival, you will see a Millennium Films/Nu Image booth. And there is a poster/handout promoting "Rambo 5." On the other side of it is a release date that says the new movie will be released next year. So is "Rambo 5" still on? Stay tuned.

"Rambo 5: The Savage Hunt" would have revolved around a military project that develops super-soldiers (half-human abominations) by bringing out their "savagery." When one of these soldiers escapes, Rambo and a Block Ops squad are called in to save the day.

Stallone, if your reading this (pfft, what do i mean 'if'?) Rambo was a fine conclusion to the series. If you are going to make this film, retitle it to simply "The Savage Hunt" and change the name of your protagonist to something like "John J. Carter". That way, if this film sucks, atleast you know Rambo still went out on a positive note.

Ripping off a JCVD-franchise is rarely a good idea. Rambo 4 was Rambo's magnum opus and nothing will be able to match up to that. Specially not if he gonna fight Captain America (actually that sounded kind of sweet)

My Guess is Stallone was talking about Savage Hunt which was kind of cancelled over a year ago and not talking about Rambo the more you know.
