Why is "Rambo 5" Promoted at Cannes Film Festival?

Why is "Rambo 5" Promoted at Cannes Film Festival?Submit Comment
Sylvester Stallone has been talking about a fifth "Rambo" movie even since the fourth one hit theaters. But a few days ago, he said that he won't be making any more "Rambo" installments and that he will instead focus on "The Expendables" sequel.

But if you walk around the Cannes Film Festival, you will see a Millennium Films/Nu Image booth. And there is a poster/handout promoting "Rambo 5." On the other side of it is a release date that says the new movie will be released next year. So is "Rambo 5" still on? Stay tuned.

"Rambo 5: The Savage Hunt" would have revolved around a military project that develops super-soldiers (half-human abominations) by bringing out their "savagery." When one of these soldiers escapes, Rambo and a Block Ops squad are called in to save the day.

This might be a joke.. But if it happens, I would definately watch this! I don't care if the plot sounds sh*thouse, I just want see Stallone rip sh*t up!

Actually, now that I think about it. They should make a Tango & Cash 2! That move was great lol

A switcheroo ?

Bait and Switch ? (which sounds like a porno by Steven Seagal and Dakota Fanning)

Or maybe they paid off Sly's new 50,000 foot yacht ?

@Ari

Maybe they can go exotic and do a mashup ...

Tango (in Paris) & Cash

f*ck YEAH! I love John Rambo i will watch these until he's 90 in a wheelchair with tank treads. I still get excited just thinking about the part where he grabs the gun on the back of the jeep and turns the guy in the front seat into a red puddle.
Max Rockatansky Junior writes:

@TeemSelemi

Yep, he cut through most of them like a Roncomatic set on ' puree '.

At least it isn't " Oscar 2 : More Actors and Actress Who Can't Sing and Do Comedy at The Same f*cking Time! " or " Over the Top : Even more over the top with that whiny, crybaby sh*t of a Kid ".
Max Rockatansky Junior writes:

Why is "Rambo 5" Promoted at Cannes Film Festival?

Cause Frank Stallone needs the work putting up the posters and handing out flyers ...

in fact, he's hanging out with Joey Travolta and trolling for French ladies so he can get a copping smell and lick of their unshaved armpits.

@CCBlev

Hope not, The 4th one was a great finsih to the series. Don't ruin it.

Have we learned nothing from :

Godfather III,
the Star Wars Prequels
any Van Damme movie after JCVD
The Love Guru
Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)
AVP
AVP : Requiem
Terminator : Salvation

Nope.

It's all about asses in seats and $$$$.

Welcome to Hollywood.

Stallone, if your reading this (pfft, what do i mean 'if'?) Rambo was a fine conclusion to the series. If you are going to make this film, retitle it to simply "The Savage Hunt" and change the name of your protagonist to something like "John J. Carter". That way, if this film sucks, atleast you know Rambo still went out on a positive note.

Don't push it!or i will give you a war you wont believe!!!let it go!LET IT GO!!!

just put in JCVD & call it universal soldier you f*ckers that is retarded Rambo plot ...
Freudian_Nightmare writes:

Ripping off a JCVD-franchise is rarely a good idea. Rambo 4 was Rambo's magnum opus and nothing will be able to match up to that. Specially not if he gonna fight Captain America (actually that sounded kind of sweet)

rabid writes:

I hope it gets made. The Rambo series hasn't jumped the shark yet, and the Savage Hunt sounds like a huuuuge shark!
billofill writes:

My Guess is Stallone was talking about Savage Hunt which was kind of cancelled over a year ago and not talking about Rambo the more you know.
