Adam Sandler to Turn "Pixels" Short into Feature Film Posted: May 13th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
About a month ago, director Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) saw a short called "Pixels" on YouTube and immediately began spreading the word about it. The film imagines what would happen if New York City was attacked by 8-bit video game character like Donkey Kong and Pac Man. Now comes word that the French filmmaker behind "Pixels," Patrick Jean, has teamed up with Adam Sandler's production company to develop a big-screen version of the short. The project is still in the early stages and has yet to sign a writer, but the plan is to make an action comedy similar to "Ghostbusters." The idea is that character will come out of a video game to wreak havoc in the real world. Check out the short below.

The presence of Adam Sandler makes me think this will be dumbed down to a kid flick

I saw some stand up of Sandler the other day and have to admit he was pretty good.
Lets hope he hands it to the right director.

Asi que esta sera como Bedtime Stories pero con imagenes en 8Bits y con Donkey kong, Adam Sandler, honestamente es un idiota cuando se trata de comedias...

Kevin James can play a barrel thrown off the building by Donkey Kong ...
Rob Schneider ? Sanitation, of course.

I don't see how this can become a movie. It's awesome and reminded me of the Futurama episode http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=535_1189897817

i'd watch this...sounds great, at least i mean it sounds better than other said games, as in Asteroids, unless Adam Sandler is behind Asteroids calling him from the game room haha...but moving on, i'd rather see something like this vs being weirded out and not interested in things that seem left better as what they're originally meant for...i mean you can't force games into movies and expect people really are dumb enough to fall for it, are they?...only on certain games does that work on a wide scale
