Rian Johnson's "Looper" Sci-Fi Thriller Details

A few days ago it was reported that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to re-team with his "Brick" director Rian Johnson on "Looper," a sci-fi thriller about time-travel. Johnson has now revealed more about the plot.

"'Looper' is a time travel movie, set in a near future where time travel doesn't exist but will be invented in a few decades," he explained. "It's pretty dark in tone, much different from 'The Brothers Bloom,' and involves a group of killers (called Loopers) who work for a crime syndicate in the future. Their bosses send their targets hogtied and blindfolded back in time to the Loopers, and their job is to simply shoot them in the head and dispose of the body. So the target vanishes from the future and the Loopers dispose of a corpse that doesn't technically exist, a very clean system. Complications set in from there."

Gordon-Levitt is said to play a man sent back to kill himself. The film will take place about thirty years in the future and will be very dark and extremely violent. People traveling back in time will come from even further in the future. The time-travel element is simply the set-up, much like in "The Terminator." It will not be an active ongoing part of the story.

The script has been ready for two years, but it is only now that Johnson has acquired financing. Stay tuned.

Well.... Guess it's better to be sent back to kill yourself rather than f*ck yourself

What if you back in time, f*ck your mom and become your own dad? Would that be incest?

@Encore: God bless Wiki. Do you have a link to that? I really don't know how to google that. Struck out with "go back in time and have sex with your mom".
