The trailer for the horror film "I Spit on Your Grave," a remake of the 1979 cult classic, has been released. The film is tentatively set to his theaters later this fall. Check out the trailer below.

Plot: The movie tells the horrific tale of writer Jennifer Hills (Sarah Butler), who takes a retreat from the city to a charming cabin in the woods to start on her next book. But Jennifer's presence in the small town attracts the attention of a few morally deprived locals who set out one night to teach this city girl a lesson.

They break into her cabin to scare her. However, what starts out as terrifying acts of humiliation and intimidation, quickly and uncontrollably escalates into a night of physical abuse and torturous assault. But before they can kill her, Jennifer sacrifices her broken and beaten body to a raging river that washes her away.

As time passes, the men slowly stop searching for her body and try to go back to life as usual. But that isn't about to happen. Against all odds, Jennifer Hills survived her ordeal. Now, with hell bent vengeance, Jennifer's sole purpose is to turn the tables on these animals and to inflict upon them every horrifying and torturous moment they carried out on her... only much, much worse.

That's one of the best names for a movie ever... I can't believe I forgot the original was out there.

This is the kind of movie that make me feel good. :)

Revenge against criminals, I like that.

The bath scene in the original movie is horrendous , makes my eyes water just thinking about it !! OUCH

I love these "in-your-face"-titles. Plus, this looks promising. One of those remakes that make sense.

Yeah looks good.

why? the original is a pile of sh!t.
Remakes of GOOD movies or kinda good movies are sh!t too 99.9% of the time...
although now it wouldn't be nearly so controversial....
i don't know.. i'm just not entertained by a woman being graphically raped three times in a half hour....
not saying it should be banned... just don't understand why it's even made.
vaodsi writes:

it does look better made than the original... i'll give it that... but i doubt Mrs. Keaton's acting will be topped.

Excellent title, excellent poster (minus the tagline), pretty average trailer. Could be good, could be really bad. Of course, the original was pretty bad, too.

Or what Lindsay Lohan calls, 'visiting the parents.'

I've read this series of books. The next one is called: 'I f*cked your cat!'

this movie cannot be remade. the original had many things going for it. i doubt this one will be as shocking or disturbing. probably be drowned in the muck of typical killer/slasher genre films...

Never seen the original, I gotta check it out now.

"I spit on your grave." how funny that the title is the exact same words vindandy tells his fathers d*ck that he nicknamed "grave."

mmm has alot to live up to, the original was brutal and every time you thought she got away they just kept coming back and beating and raping her again, cant see that happening in this one, just hope she doesnt turn all ripley! In the original she tricked them to their deaths, didnt use brute force
SACdaddy writes:

Just another cult classic getting a facelift. I should be upset, but Hwood has actually done OK with other 70s horror explotation films like Last House On the Left, The Hills Have Eyes, and Texas Chainsaw. I'll give it a chance if it goes all out like these remakes.

The original was sooooooo brutal. I loved it. I doubt this remake will touch the original.

@Zen, my thoughts exactly. Not many people know of the original and will see this as just another slasher flick pushing the boundaries.
