First Look: Hank Azaria as Gargamel from "The Smurfs"Submit Comment
"The Smurfs" movie is currently filming in New York City where Hank Azaria ("The Simpsons") was spotted in full Gargamel makeup. Someone was able to snap some photos of him and we now have them here for you. In addition, we have some photos of Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays ("Glee") shooting their scenes in the East Village. Check out everything below.

In the new movie, the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village and they tumble from their magical world into ours in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.

The live-action/CG animated film is directed by Raja Gosnell (Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Scooby-Doo) and is will appear in 3D and 2D theaters on August 3rd, 2011.

Looks stupid as hell, but I have a quick question... What are they doing in the city? The Smurfs take place in a forest... right? Maybe they were outside the studio or something.

For f*cks sake, I'm sick of seeing New York everywhere.

A live-action/CG animated film from the director of Beverly HIlls Chihuahua and Scooby Doo?
How could this possibly go wrong?

Why is so much talent being wasted to make a movie based on a moronic cartoon from 1980?
