Promo Trailer: Rutger Hauer's "Hobo With a Shotgun" Thriller

Promo Trailer: Rutger HauerSubmit Comment
A few days ago we learned that another faux "Grindhouse" trailer was being turned into a feature film. Called "Hobo With a Shotgun," the trailer was the winner of a "Grindhouse" contest and was attached to Canadian releases of the film.

The director of that trailer, Jason Eisener, began shooting the new movie on April 19th and has Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) cast as the Hobo, a homeless vigilante who blows away crooked cops, pedophile Santas, and other scumbags with his trusty pump-action shotgun.

Even though it's still very early, Eisener has already released a 40-second teaser for "Hobo With a Shotgun." Check it out below, but keep in mind that this is a very rough cut of only three days of shooting.

Yes, it does look cheap and stupid, but the last shot on the Rutger was bad-ass (in it's weird way).

Yeah, I wanna see Chuck Conners do THAT!

???? It looked like an a cross between a reallly bad art-school project and an ad for a boxing match ... the UFC intro was cleaner cut.

@Freudian

It's Rutger Hauer.

That's all ya had to say - Jules Winfeld

all im going to say is ....BLADE RUNNER 2 shoulda been made...best movie for its time

I'll defend Eisner- I know the guy from around our town in Dartmouth and being that they only started principal photography on April 19th most of these shots are simply set hands shooting the sets the test effects- shots like the first and last look are the true film stock. Everything else is just them playing loving and revelling everything the production designer has done so far.

@ PrevalentMind - really hope your right, but if you are i think it was a bad movie releasing this, should have waited

@OneTime - big Bladerunner fan here as well. A sequel would be EASY (get Ridley Scott for sure though). Harrison Ford... called back in for duty as he was in the first one. Pile on some Matrix-like effects and run with it!
OneTime writes:

^^^ ya just think about the directions that movie could go in...
AYT BALL writes:

@ Ranger - Blade runner is easily in my top 5.....but cant help thinking leave it alone now, even though i would love to have seen more of that world, i just think they would spoil it with lashing on the CGI and they could never do Hauer justice, he was in his prime in that, as was ford

Bladerunner saw that a few years ago at the Odeon west end when they released the Directors Cut Version, no ford voice over and the happy ending gone sort of !!

To me it's the most visually spectacular movie i have ever seen at the cinema simply blew me away. I had seen the movie many times on vhs and dvd, and didn't expect it to be so different on the big screen , Awesome !!

Ridley Scott, Ford and hauer on the top of their game on this movie even though Ford and Scott had alot of conflict about alot of issues while they were making the movie.

Anyone else see the Millennium Falcon as a building hidden in their ??
Ranger writes:

No... but I have the Director's Cut and will look for it next time I watch.

Speaking of Blade Runner, have any of you guys seen the Final Cut? I wonder if it's any better.
trailertrash writes:

@roden-

Just got that version on blu ray and it's good, more of the violence is put back in again, alot of the shots have been cleaned up and improved plus full version of the unicorn dream has been put in.

This is the only version of the movie ridley scott had total control over , the directors cut was done for the 20 year anniversary of the film and scott has always publicly stated it was a badly edited version of his film ,he didn't have the time to spend on it because he was doing Thelma & louise, But He did like the directors cut better than the original 1982 release though.

@ranger - As Gaff and Deckard are in the spinner. Just before they land on the police building the camera goes over the top of it.
