The Howling Commandos to Appear in "Captain America"Submit Comment
During the press junket for "Iron Man 2," Chud had the chance to catch up with Marvel's Kevin Feige to ask if the Howling Commandos will show up in "The First Avenger: Captain America."

The Commandos were Nick Fury's elite squad who battled in WWII. They included 'Dum Dum' Dugan, Gabe Jones, 'Rebel' Ralston, Dino Manelli and 'Izzy' Cohen. They engaged in all sorts of WWII action throughout the 60s and occasionally fought alongside Captain America.

Feige confirmed that the group will be once again be fighting alongside Cap, but they won't specifically be called The Howling Commandos. "The characters will be there as part of the larger Marvel Universe," he said, adding to definitely expect Gabe Jones, a black character known for carrying his trumpet into battle.

cool i guess never really got into Howling Commandos. if their appearance is brief or is just kind of shown in the back-ground fighting then it'll be fine, just don't spend to much time on them or anybody else really, remember it's called Captain America, not Captain America and freinds.

Okay. They will be in the movie, but not be referred to as The Howling Commandos ??? WTF ??? Why the hell not ? We had the Inglorious Bastards ????

Oh, and Ranger_X, you thought I was going to make some remark about a guy and his trumpet, hunh ?

Sounds like a cluttered Captain American movie. An obligatory Howard Stark scene, and perhaps all of the Howling Commandos. I think I would have rather seen more scenes of Captain America and regular American soldiers. Certainly not a bunch of almost-super heroes. Might was well throw Wolverine, Magneto, and any other Marvel character that was around during that time. Spiderman 3, That crappy Wolverine (Solo) movie, Marvel seems to constantly be making the mistake of too many damned Marvel trade marked characters cluttering up the footage in their recent movies.

johnzee-that does worry me, it seems they're trying to cram everyone the Marvel Universe who was in WWII into this ass and it just doesn't look like it's gonna fit.

I couldn't agree more with ONE TIME, and the others that agree.

This film just seems like its getting too much sh*t adding into it to create a very poorly developed screenplay...ooooooo wait its Spiderman 3 all over again...

But meh then again its Joe Johnston directing, if that didn't say anything from the get-go, then the tagline should be
"YOU'VE BEEN WARNED"

MOST EXCITING THING ABOUT THE FILM...

@johnzee- good call im sure they have a sh*t ton of stock footage from Origins to fit wolverine in to the ww2 scenes
Ranger writes:

Wolverine passing by CA in the background would be pretty sweet. Maybe they exchange a word or two... 30 second for Jackman.

I hope Marvel really gets on that cross-marketing wagon of theirs, and get stuff like this done.

hmm... Well if Nick Fury is leading them, then the entire team of Howling Commandos could be black. This was WW2. They didn't exactly put black guys like Samuel Jackson in charge of a white battalion in those days.
