"LA Confidential" Helmer to Film Bizarre True Story of a Fake CopSubmit Comment
Deadline is reporting that Curtis Hanson (LA Confidential) has signed on to direct a film based on Bill Anthony Jakob, a 36-year-old man who showed up to a small Missouri town and led a crackdown on meth labs. He was later exposed as fraud with a phony FBI badge.

Jakob was indicted on a 23-count federal indictment for impersonating a law enforcement officer, and all arrested criminals were released. Check out his "60 minutes" interview below to get more details on his story.

Fox Searchlight has also boarded the projects, which will be written by Clark Gregg (Choke, What Lies Beneath). It's still unknown what direction the film will head in, but back in 2008, when his antics became a national media story, Jacob optioned his life rights with the goal of turning the premise into a comedy.

What a douche. Taking down methlabs and putting criminals in jail, how dare he? I hope they fry him.

@Freudian, hahaha yeah man total douche

Freudian-lol.

he was actually being a complete f*cking idiot. if he knew anything about the law (not saying i'm an expert) becuase, as it is shown that this did happen, once it's found out that a cop is taking bribes, arresting unlawfully, without a warrant, or ISN'T EVEN A f*ckING COP, all those arrested go free. this guy didn't do that town any favors because now those people are back on the streets.

@Encore: Yeah, I understand that. But still, if the police had done anything before it wouldn't had happened. And who is stupid enough to believe that this guy can be a FBI-agent?
encoreyourface writes:

yeah he looks pretty weird. like a white guy with Chinese eyes.

Gotta love the US legal system. Kinda reminds me of Miami Blues with Alec Baldwin. I always loved that movie!

@encore: Yeah, the guy kind of looks like a salamander or the Geico Gecko to me. If this whole fake cop thing doens't work out for him he might try auditioning for a role on V as one of the Visitors. (btw that show is getting pretty f*cking good!)

SAC-never heard of that show. what's it about?

What about Michael Bay or Brett Ratner? They're impersonating film directors for a long time! Too bad their movies already did the harm, unless the "Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind" exists.

@encore: You don't get V ?!?! It's a reboot of a popular 80s TV mini about aliens that look like humans who come to Earth claiming peace. They cure many of mankind's major illnesses and assist with our technological advances in exchange for acceptance and a certain amount of compliance. You find out pretty early in the show that the aliens are really reptiles under human tissue that have more sinister plans for the Earth and particularly the human race. Its on ABC here in the States and has a pretty big following already. Hopefully it will be a decent replacement for LOST when it ends this season.

Check it out on Hulu.com. Its only on its 5th or 6th episode, so you should be able to get all the installments.

Just check it out on abc.com. Forgot to mention that all of the female aliens are ridiculously hot, especially the queen :-)

This guy's f*cking awesome.

"I'm pretty sure you need a search warrant."

"Well I'm not a cop."

This guy's a f*cking lumberjack among men, who cares if he had other motivations he still tried to dish out some vigilante justice.

REAL LIFE SUPERHERO f*ck YEA.

@SACdaddy
I'm trying to see "V" but am always too busy to check it out, but I agree it is an interesting concept. Oh yeah, and have you seen "Flashforward" by any chance? I want an outside opinion on whether to waste my time watching the season. Some say it's good, others think it's a poor attempt at "Lost".
Blank x2 writes:

Now that you mention it, "Lost" is a poor attempt at "Lost", too.

Hehe, now that's worth a read. It really says something about the police when sh*t like this happens.
SACdaddy writes:

@Sleuth: I'm a big fan of Flashforward, but the irony is its a show "without" a future. David Goyer (the brains behind it) left the show midseason to work on Batman 3 and other Nolan projects, so they don't even know if it will have a second season. It was always going be a tough concept to stretch out for multiple seasons anyway. I would wait to hear if the finale was worth it before getting committed to Flashforward.
