Joss Whedon's "Cabin in the Woods" to Have MonstersPosted: April 7th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
There has been lots of leaked information about Joss Whedon's "Cabin in the Woods" horror film, but actress Amy Acker just revealed something new.
The film will revolve around two "white collar" characters who lure five college-type kids to a cabin in the woods. The cabin is rigged with carefully selected props, gimmicks and cameras that allow the overseers to spy and interfere with the kids. The mysterious organization behind this scheme is doing this in order to hold a sweepstakes on just how everything will pan out.
"There's a lot of scary monsters," revealed Acker. "It's a scary movie." She added that the film is now complete and is in the process of being converted to 3D.
"Cabin in the Woods" is directed by Drew Goddard (writer of "Cloverfield," and "Lost") and co-stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor). It is scheduled to hit theaters on January 14th of next year.

I have the script, because of the involvement of Drew Goddard, who wrote "Cloverfield".
It's very good. Basicly, it's not really what you expect it to be. From the plot synopsis I imagined a movie with teenagers been punished for their sinfull action by releasing different monsters. ...but no.
SPOILER AHEAD
In 3/4 of the movie it's a satirical zombie flick pointing out every stupidity you can expect from that kind of movie. Humour comes of the characters played by Jenkins and Whitford. Their dialogues are very witty.
But with the twist. Not to spoil to much- you get to see other monsters including my favorite "Killer Unicorn" and "Mereman". There's probably gonna make much more monsters, than that they included in a script, but all there have- it's just cameos.
What I learned from reading the script- smoking pot, can save your live. More than once.
Overall- I didn't like "Cabin Fefer". To me- it wasn't reinventing genre in any significant way. Joss Whedon said that- "Cabin In The Woods" was ment to be a horror film, to end all horror films. By the script- I can easly say, that goal was accomplished.
And the ending rocks. :)
Yeah- sorry for my english.

The horror film that ended all horror films was "Behind the mask: The rise of Leslie Vernon". A horror film that actually deserves a sequel.
But this could be fun enough, but it reminds me of "My little eye".

I've been pretty hard on Whedon on this site, but if he can make a great horror film I'll give him a chance. If it's anything less than an R rating I can guarantee it will suck balls like his fruity tv shows.
Wait a minute its being "converted" to 3D? Never mind, it will definitely suck huge 3D balls. Whedon's not even directing the film? Why is there such a push to give this amateur a huge project like The Avengers on his first time out?

sc_kg if 3/4 of it is a satyrical zombie flick then how is it the horror film to end all horror films?
