Teaser Trailer for Live-Action "Shogun Warriors" FilmSubmit Comment
In the 1970s, Mattel released a "Shogun Warriors" toy line that consisted of several imported Japanese toys that were based on a popular anime series. A bit later Marvel adapted the property into a 20-issue comic book.

AICN has now learned that one of the characters from the series, Gaiking, will be heading to the big screen. The rest of the Shogun Warriors will soon follow. The first film is being set for a 2012 release under the supervision of director Matthew Gratzner.

"We are building the robots LIFE SIZE," said special effects artist Jules Urbach. "Matt [Gratzner] is one of the last great practical effects guys in the business who can pull this off."

Urbach also gave the site a glimpse at some CGI footage that was specifically created to showcase the look and tone of "Gaiking." Check out the teaser below, but keep in mind that the final film may not look exactly like this.

I like how they changed it to an "i" as not to infringe on Vin's title of GayKing!

Not bad. Now all they need is a good story, good actors, and not overdue the special effects. Yeah, that will be easy.

I never seen Shogun Warriors but this looks interesting.

The teaser trailer looks good. Having Matt Gratzner onboard makes this movie a thousand times more interesting. The movies he was involved in had some of the best physical special effects ever in Hollywood and he is very competent as a visual effects supervisor. Iím looking forward to this.

@whoever... lol!

So, how does one build something 'life-size' for something that isn't real?

Couldn't 'life-size' for these fictitious warriors be 6 inches tall (like 3x's the length of VinDandy's d*ck)?

Nice.
I can't wait to see how this pans out.

How about...That looks like a sh*tty transformers. Who gives a crap about this japanese bullsh*t. If your not American, shut the f*ck up cause your opinion doesnt matter.
LuvCake69 writes:

Or if you like anime sh*t grow the f*ck up, stop reading comics, get a real f*cking girlfriend (not a internet one), get a job, and quit being a fantasy faggot!

@Luvcake: Still feeling grumpy over the Vietnam-war? It'll pass.

Never heard of these Shogun Warriors and when I read the article it sounded really B-grade. But the teaser doesn't look that bad.

trailer looks good, cant wait to see more stuff on this
Stuntastic writes:

This does look pretty interesting. Gotta check it out when it drops.

@Luvcake: I don't know what Anime you have been watching, but movies such as Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, and of course Akira are instant classics and more entertaining then most live action films

The only poor aspect of this teaser was the reveal!

I was like ohh, it's a lady. No wonder it had breast shaped lumps on its chest!
