David Fincher in Talks for Bobby Fischer Film

David Fincher in Talks for Bobby Fischer FilmSubmit Comment
In addition to pushing forward with a remake of "Heavy Metal," director David Fincher (Fight Club, Curious Case of Benjamin Button) is now considering two other projects.

First is Columbia Pictures' chess drama "Pawn Sacrifice" about the life story of American chess icon Bobby Fischer leading up to his historic world championship match against Boris Spassky. Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man) is producing and writer Steven Knight (Eastern Promises) has already turned in a script.

The other project is the studio's high-profile remake of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," based on Stieg Larsson's bestseller. NY Magazine has described the lead character Lisbeth Salander as "a girl with 'hair as short as a fuse' whose genius for computer hacking is matched only by her social awkwardness."

Variety says that the reason why Columbia Pictures is offering Fincher so many projects is because the studio is extremely happy with how their "Social Network" Facebook movie is progressing.

Fincher before you even think off taking the latter picture 'The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo'...
I recommend seeing the original and asking yourself the question you wouldn't be able to answer...

How Can I Make This Better...?

Fincher should stick to thrillers...benjamin button sucked balls...

Hmmm, i thought it was average, the concept was pretty interesting and it was a new bit of territory for Fincher.

But i gotta agree, i want to know if he is still doing 'Torso'

Benjamin Button was a waste of bandwith, glad I didnt waste any hard earned dollars. Zodiac, on the other hand was exceptional. So Brad Pitt started off as an old guy, then got younger and eventually porked his granddaughter who ended up being the same age as him?

I hated Benjamin Button. The love story was down right creepy and the rest was just cheesy.

Although it's nice to some work from fellow Swedes, I really wish it would be something and someone else than Stieg Larsson. I really can't understand all the love the books and movies gets. And if I say it out loud here at home, people look at me like I was some Danish person.

Sooooo, remind me again why the world needs another movie about this anti-American, anti-Semitic chess player?
Cripes! Enough with all of the gawd damn remakes already!

I REALLY DONT SEE HOW A MOVIE ABOUT FACEBOOK IS GONNA BE GOOD. ESPECIALLY IF ITS STARING JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE.

@ashtrey - timberlake isnt horrible...he's better than a lot of people who try to act, example: keanu reeves, 50 cent, ludacris, any rapper.

haha .. there names are practilly identical ... i'm sure THAT had nothing to do with the decision ...
